Reading between the lines....a man's guide

One for the ladies here to help us men interpret some common replies or phrases given to us in that are often misinterpreted.

I'm aware they may be disagreements as we can mean things differently and context may be a cause too.

To set you off. Been chatting to a lady, getting on well. Both interested in meeting so I pop the question about arranging a meet, I'm flexible being self employed so giving her the ball as to when it suits her best. The reply I got was, "Sure". ( I interpreted that as 'no thanks' but I replied "look forward to hearing from you". That was 2 days ago, still waiting.

I know if I want to meet someone badly, I am desperately trying to put arrangements in motion. If I say sure, it means I am on the backburner and non commital, because I think they are decent but I'm not 100% sure I want to meet. I can't speak for all women. Thats just my personal experience.

I take sure to mean "I'll leave it for a few days, in which time I'll have a few hundred messages in my inbox, countless offers to meet, I'll lose our last conversation and you'll have to remind me who you are"

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is about right.

Sure for me personally means they are nice, I like them, but I'm not totally in yet and I'm trying to be polite and not say no just yet as my feelings may change.

In the past when I get sure as a reply I've alway interpreted it as no thanks so my reply has been ...."I'll take that as a no thank you". Sometimes I've had an abusive reply back saying...wtf or something to that extent. I usually interpret that reaction as ( fookn shit head I've now lost my plan B ). Other times it a delete which confirms it.

Being a sapiophile, the switch goes off in my brain and a meet would be very hard to arrange after that for me any how. Non comical is indecisive, fence sitting. I much prefer someone who knows their mind.

They just haven't quite made it up yet. I personally start to feel pressured by people quite easily and it makes me kick things into reverse and question myself. I need to do things on my terms at my own rate, if the other persons rate and terms sync with my own then great. Something I do need though is time. I'm sure there are lots like that.

I wouldn't say it's a plan B per say. It's more to do with not being quite sure of the possible spark. The need to engage a little further, to determine whether the compatibility is more than just the physical.... Again, just me

I've found for some women, it’s only within the pursuit that they feel the freedom to respond.  With that in mind, a great litmus test of whether or not she’s interested is to go ahead and take the risk!
