Not that I have deleted my profile and gone away as such.

However, in the past few months I had been "quieter" than usual on the forums for various reasons.

I had a not so pleasant meet back in March, and thought there had to be more to life than to meet gents off FAB for no string attached recreational fun.

At the same time, the forums appeared to be dominated by not so fun people, and I struggled to find threads that I wanted to participate.

Hence I decided to dip my toes in the world of vanilla dating once more, to take my chances to see if I could find the part time soul-mate that I am looking for.

Nearly 3 months have passed since I signed up a respectable online dating service, with 3 months subscription still to go, and I have come to the same conclusion about internet dating as I did before when I last ventured into this territory less than a year after my late partner's sudden death.

I am not suited to a conventional monogamous relationship, in that I am too independent to want to share certain aspects of my life with another person.

Although I am alone, I am far from being lonely. And I am not needy or desperate to be with another person at all cost.

The vanilla internet dating world appears to me as full of needy people, based on a small sample of people with whom I have communicated in the past 3 months.

Recent events in the past couple of weeks have restored my faith in FAB, and am content with the life of a fancy free woman of a certain age, with no baggage except a cat and a dog, to do as I please, without too much care in the world.

Thank you to all my friends on FAB, and my handful of playmates, in helping me to restore my mojo!

I could not have done it without you!

well im for one glad that your back although im now going to be spending less time on here. Havent been around for a couple of days and probley wont be around in the week as much.

Now im starting my new hobbies, yet to go on my first archeological dig but am starting to study native american history, books awaiting for arrival. Ive also gone back to doing my watercolours

Nothing much has changed since March, except for taking up ballroom dancing once a week.

I'll continue to play with Mr. Wrongs until a Mr. Right comes along and sweep me off my feet!

Its funny I was on a well known dating site and there was a guy on there that I messaged on there. I messaged that I liked his profile and I got a reply back saying I was not his cup of tea.. Only to get a message on here from the same guy saying I know you fancy me do you want a shag...........

When I was on a dating site I'd get messages there, fancy a shag... we know you're on FAB, they really used to get the hump when I'd reply no... wanna shag me ask me on FAB not here, this is for dating!

Meeting like-minded peeps on here for recreational fun means I do not have to explain myself what I want/not want.

Besides, vanilla gents I have encountered do not appear to be able to handle assertive and sexually liberated woman with very little hang ups about sex!

Welcome back Pearl and its great to hear that you have it all sorted.

I do wonder about ladies who are obviously looking for relationships on other sites and also on here. I wonder how difficult it is to separate the two, on one site its a result if you have regular dates which seem to be progressing towards a more permament relationship, yet when on here accepting its just sex for a few hours and thats it, nothing else. What if you meet the wrong guy on the wrong site.

I am very independent and have my own hobbies as he does. We do lots of things separately and whilst my working day is 9-5, his is not and he is off working all over the country all the time, as he owns his own business and has to keep ahead of competition.

Its nice too to be in someones pocket all the time and to be independent.

ive tried the vanilla dating sites and men really dont want wwomen in their fifties as dates!!! ...ive met all my friends who have become a special part of my life on fab and another "swinging site"......i dont think i can do monogamy either Pearl !
