"I can't imagine for a second what goes through the mind of a person who feels they are in the wrong body, the mental impact it has and the mental adjustments of going through a transition. Should there be better support and screening? This comes from a story in my local newspaper. Born male, HRT to become a woman, reverting back to male, now planning on a full transition to female, at the tender age of 23! http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/news/hull-east-yorkshire-news/hull-woman-ria-cooper-change-287001 Really sad. Don't know how they can screen better. " Why is it sad? This person has figured out the way forward.

" It's not uncommon for people in that position to take tentative steps forward and the ossasional backward step.It is quite important to know that it is the right way forward for the individual rather than jumping in with eyes closed. It seems this person has thought long and hard and decided firmly.

"I'm concerned about the psychological effects a transition has on a person, this is the 3rd transition and they are only 23, with this amount of transitions it would suggest to me that they are somewhat confused about their grnder identity, but medical professionals are allowing the treatments for the transitions, what sort of evaluations are they doing before signing the prescriptions? I can only imagine that the mental stresses involved may only be adding to the psychological turmoil of the individual" Maybe the third attempt at transition. Who gets everything 100%right first time, every time?
