It's approaching 20 years since Diana died .....

There is a whole generation for whom she is little more than a figure from history....

I was never a fan of hers , but I appreciate she was thrust into a job beyond the credentials of her candidacy .....

Over the years since her death have your opinions about her remand the same ?

My opinion of her and the wider royal family particularly Prince Charles has changed completely.

I think she was chosen as a brood mare and he is a victim of his upbringing who will fit in very well with a traditional

monarch's role.

Their father cheated on her. I find it vile that as the 20 year anniversary of her death approaches, there have been articles praising the woman he cheated on her with, and programmes seemingly created to show Diana was no angel. I wonder who is behind the timing of all this.

She was no angel. No-one is. However I think they (her ex husband, his wife, the media) should just have some fucking respect. Take a break from slagging her off and continue it again next month if they feel the need.

People seem to have accepted Camilla now. Her and Charles appear to love each other. William and Harry seem to like her. Wish they'd concentrate on that instead of dragging up the past.

Yeah morbidly fascinating but they should think of the boys, and now grandchildren, and just leave it in the past.

She started out as convenient, the perfect wife for a future king, she produced an heir and did her duty, until the royal family found they didn't need her anymore, then she became an inconvenience to them, and a thorn in the side of the monarchy.

Now, I'm not a massive conspiracy theorists, but the image that has stuck with me from that night in Paris, was the police taking evidence away from the scene, they were loading one of the paparazzi bikes onto a flat bead truck, at most it was a 125cc scooter, I'm sorry, but there is no way any driver of a powerful Mercedes would have to be doing high speed manovers through tunnels, to get away from a hairdryer, the ex sas drover could have lost them anywhere.

Felt sorry for her from the "whatever love is" interview given by Charles. The look on her face was abject misery. We were a year apart in age and getting married in the same month, I wondered why she didn't walk away as she looked so sad compared to how ecstatic I was.

Thought she was a bit simple then bitter, but whilst I think she manipulated the press to a certain degree, it's understandable considering her ghastly new family.

I think the best impression you can have of her is to look at her sons now. Her personality transcends through them, they have humour and down to earthed'ness that they can combine with the stature that they hold in public life. They have what seems like genuine compassion and a desire to maintain their mum's legacy and move it forward in her absence.

I have never been a fan of the royals, but in terms of Diana, Will and Harry speak volumes.

Watched another documentary last night. Her 'lover' whilst she still lived with Charles was dismissed from service after it was found out then three weeks later he was killed in a motorbike accident

I think I always saw her as a real person. With good points and flaws just like we all have. She had a vulnerability and yet could be manipulative. For all of that, I admired her. As a mother and tireless worker for charity. Whatever anyone thinks of her, her legacy lives on.

The younger royal generation are at least trying. Diana made an effort, taking her boys to theme parks and on secret outings. They still do this now.

The younger royal generation are at least trying. Diana made an effort, taking her boys to theme parks and on secret outings. They still do this now. "

She gave them as normal upbringing as possible. If she hadn't of done it I doubt my Mum would ever of taken me to McDonald's and they were nowhere near as popular as now

Yes she did a lot of good by giving love to outsiders who relished that attention that see give them,but she was in a great position to do this and I feel it was more of a diversion to what was happening in her marriage.

I feel it was her downfall that she had the looks but not the stability for the job/marriage that was required of her.

My opinions haven't changed. I was obsessed by her when she first burst into the limelight. I thought she was beautiful, it was obvious her and Charles weren't suited from the beginning.

It makes me wonder why one none of her friends or family said 'Diana what the fuck are you doing?' Well, maybe they did but she didn't listen!
