laptop techy please

nothing major but whenever i click on post message - add message to thread or any of those instruction clickons my lappy opened up a new tab - i shut down and switched back on and its ok just wondered what i had pressed to make it do that ?

i did a clean up thing - its a new laptop and some buttons in different places - so im guessing i hit the wrong one - no idea just got caught in a loop of getting nowhere
