Right, so I was round my friend's house the other day and we got onto the conversation of tea bagging. She explain to me the way she likes it and I just couldn't understand and get to grips of her method or reason just why?? After awhile of her trying to explain, she was like "look i'll show you." So she grabs my hands leads me into the kitchen. I was not prepared at all, totally and utterly gob smacked me it did! I couldnt believe What my eyes had just witnessed? She got the cup, put a tea bag in, then sugar, surly water comes next? Oh no no this lady had different ideas, she only goes and put the milk in before the water wtf seriously? Please tell me she is the only one

Yes, water should come first when making tea.

Coffee on the other hand, I add milk first then water.

.

I always find the tea tastes milky when I have made it that way, I probably should leave the tea bag in longer but find it easier to make it with the milk last

You are correct. Tea need boiling water to brew and infuse; milk cools it before it can brew properly. Milk is used where brewed tea is poured into fine china cups, the milk stops the thermal shock from cracking the cup.

Coffee is for heathens, who frickin cares how it's made?

Exactly. Tea needs boiling water. Milk only ever goes in first if you're pouring from a teapot.
