Its very true but they also let a lot more off for worse crimes. I.E there were a bloke in my area 40 odd years of age went to meet a 14 year old girl. MR B had weeks of evidence stacked up. This dirty nonce hasmd sent tonnes of naked photos to her and kept pestering her for sex. Tell me how you can get it wrong if thats the case? 1 year later hes still free walking the streets. Its narrow minded judges or magistrates or whoever make these decisions thats release them time and time again. In my eyes justice will never be served even if found guilty. | |||

Just because someone doesn't believe your stance is the right one doesn't automatically make them a defender of such people. Some of these vigilante groups have got results and seen potential abusers locked up, but there are still instances of innocent people being killed, seem to remember one group didn't really understand what a paediatrician was  | |||

With a 95% conviction rate at Magistrates and an 87% conviction rate at Crown. In the UK, we have a system that is depicted as innocent until proven guilty. Unfortunately, media bias and publicity does not help this systemic mind set. The media hype around a case can change the mindset of many before they've even been given evidence. Not everybody who goes to court is guilty of anything. I used to believe that the justice system worked, and put faith in the system. I believed that, although I'd read of cases like the Birmingham Six, Guildford Four and other such cases, these incidents of wrongful conviction were rare. That changed when I became personally involved in a trial case in which the evidence failed to prove the prosecutions case, but they still got a conviction. The judge's summary was seemingly biased and used evidence from a witness that he had personally told the jury to disregard. So I cannot pass any kind of judgement on a case, in which I've had no chance to examine any part of the evidence presented at court or otherwise. | |||
