So, after getting numerous messages saying how stunning I am and what a beautiful body I have, I came to the conclusion that people on here don't see what I see and they are looking through carefully chosen pictures which I've purposefully done to hide my tummy.

A thread today prompted a message from a friend saying 'You're not fat'.

I was honestly taken aback for a while then realised I've been misleading everyone who only looks at my pictures.

To rectify this, I've stripped down and done what I never thought I would do and I'm going to post frontal tummy shots.

It's there, I'm not proud of it but I no longer feel I'm hiding such a crucial part of me.

I bet the messages reduce significantly

It's beautiful, it's a kind of honesty that so many can't muster, including myself, when you have an insecurity it's easier to hide it, than put it out there, and you have, and to be honest, I've never wanted to see more pictures of someone as much as I do yours right now.

My ex wife has a mothers apron and really bad stretch marks, she was so conscious about it that she wouldn't let anybody else see it. I called it my comfort blanket and I'd fall asleep with my hand on it and I honestly felt special to have the privilege. My point is that people see what they want to see, when people tell you that you are beautiful, believe them because they probably mean what they say. We all have our perfect imperfections. X

Good for you, if that's what you want to do! I think you are gorgeous and it shouldn't make a difference.

My tummy is my worst part and every so often I have a massive crisis of confidence over it. Do I mislead people? Maybe, but everyone wants to present themselves in the most flattering light I guess.

I like to think that my bed fellow selection process would out those looking for physical perfection anyway and we meet for a social, so they see "me" albeit clothed.

I was massively hung up about it for a long time (and to some degree still am, if someone's hand brushes my tummy I momentarily can't breathe

). But I've accepted that it's my body, it gives me and my chosen partners pleasure and I try to focus on that.

(And as yet no one has done a runner!

)

I have flip flopped between curvy and large the whole time I've been on fab without anyone even noticing (or commenting on) the body type description I've plumped for. There's no point putting my dress or bra size on my profile since I'm a size 14 with large boobs but am really oddly proportioned with long legs for my height so have a squat, really podgy torso as a result. No one needs to read that as a profile description when it's far easier to have pics in my friends gallery for those rare few who might be interested to see the reality. I don't get loads of messages anyway so I see no point having them in my public gallery.

We all have fears insecurities and often a far less sympathetic view of ourselves than we should.

Often we concentrate on what we see as our negative attributes and fail to see ourselves as others do.

All physical attraction starts in the mind, our own, and the minds of others.

What we often perceive to be negative others see as either part of the whole or even at a pure physical level things which attract us to another.

Your pics they are only one part of you and those who judge others simply on their physical attributes often miss the most exciting and stimulating part of knowing another.

We should all be kinder to ourselves content in our own skin and confident that no matter how we may see ourselves or whatever our own perceived shortcomings others will always see us in a different and often kinder way than we see ourselves.

Those who don't are not worth our time....those who do they are the real people and most will probably have their own insecurities too.

We are what we are .....accepting that is the only true contentment

Every so often one of the forum ladies puts up a thread similar to yours OP and I always think 'good on you' when they do as it's natural for most of us to want to display ourselves in 'public' in the most flattering light.

For what it's worth your tummy simply looks womanly and well within the wide range of what I'd personally consider normal. It may be slightly rounded but your skin looks nice and smooth. Nothing to feel 'ashamed' of at all.

I'm sure you realise that whenever body parts are discussed here, time and again, the most common complaint amongst women seems to be their stomach - particularly for those of us who are mums. I'm no exception as I'm also very self conscious about my mum tum. I'm lucky that it's pretty flat (I once read a 'tip' decades ago in Cosmo or some such and consequently deliberately hold it in whenever I'm walking or standing in public - this may or may not have helped, who knows

) but although I'm a size 10-12 my tummy has a surface layer of stretched skin like a deflated balloon thanks to my pregnancies and no amount of dieting or exercise will get rid of that. Only a few thousands worth of surgery would help and, to be honest, if a load of money suddenly dropped in my lap there's jewellery, handbags, books and kittens I'd want to buy first before a tummy tuck!

The point is, none of us are perfect - no one is - but we don't *need* to be. From a Fab perspective, if you look attractive overall, and have an appealing personality then it's very unlikely that what *you* see as a 'flaw' would put off someone who was interested in the *whole* of you. I was recently having a bit of a whinge about something (I can't remember exactly what) I didn't like about myself and someone was trying to reassure me otherwise - they wisely said that we'd all be a lot happier if we could see ourselves through the admiring eyes of others - which gave me some food for thought. Hopefully that thought might help you, along with all the other positive feedback you've had on this thread

I know I'm not perfect and I think that's the point of this. I'm feeling better about myself than I've felt in so many years but looking at my pictures earlier, I realised it's not the full story. It's not what someone would see if they stood in front of me.

That's really important to me, being totally honest. Honest about who I am and how I look.

I don't want fabs, not looking for lots of compliments. I just want to put ME out there and say, you know, this is the real me.

Btw. I think you look amazing, always have

I've got a mix of thought out / staged photos that flatter my figure along with a few full frontal "let it all hang out" ones.

'Twas quite unnerving in the beginning but now at least I feel I can say "what you see is what you get."

I was one of those who said you look amazing, I still think you do. Women's bodies are beautiful in all shapes and sizes, with fat bits and lumpy bits, stretch marks etc. These little imperfections are what makes each woman individual in their own right and I love them.

We've all seen supposedly 'babe' types who couldn't look sexy if they tried and, equally, 'fuller' figures that you can't take your eyes off!

I wish you women realised that some of us love a tummy and even things such as stretch marks, may sound completely bizarre to you ladies but we want women and wide hips, stretch marks and a bit of a tummy are just that of a woman. Womens bodies undergo a lot of strain and change so these signs are sexy to some of us

I have pictures, we meet socially, if you want to play...fine, if not it's still all good.

It's casual sex, nothing more complicated than that to me. However, when the other half makes a comment about my stomach I do feel self conscious, but never on a meet.

We all amplify our perceived imperfections and more often than not are battling against ourselves than against others.

Judging is perfectly good. We all have our own preferences. Mine would be not to meet people who don't kiss (just been reading that thread)

It's important for me to get my flaws out there so people can judge for themselves. That's really important for me to feel they're fully informed about who I am.

OP I wasn't going to post as everyone else has said what I'd say and probably a lot better than I could - but I applaud your honesty and your bravery - not for revealing your tummy, but because you've faced your fears and stood up to them in a most public way.

The fact that pretty much every post on here has been a vindication of that speaks volumes as to your true self and how others perceive you - which is as an attractive woman. Take strength and pride from that as you rightly should
