Just where I need to be.

Depends who is complimenting. On here as the most gorgeous woman with a fit body, well that is what is messaged to me, I don't take any notice. From people who have nothing to gain by complimenting me I accept gracefully but I find it quite hard to do.

It depends on who they are from and what type of compliment? I tried to work out a way of saying it without resorting to a clichéd forum response but it really does. Some I question because they are laughable - ones that say what a hot Asian woman I am for example and then the person unloses quickly after. Others just seem more sincere - rightly or wrongly.

This ^^

I seem to regress to the kid that hid his face in his jumper if I receive a positive comment. Which is odd, as I have posted on many threads that are blatantly fishing for compliments... Awkward in more ways than one I guess

"Do you accept them gracefully or bat them off? "

I always accept them gracefully as it's always nice to be complimented in some way but like others have said, it depends who is doing the complimenting, their motives and what it is they're complimenting me on.

If it's something I've said or done then I find that much easier to accept. If they're complimenting me on my physical appearance in some way then that's a whole other ballgame. Only if that person had seen me and met me in the flesh would I wholly take their compliment on board. That's all a minefield for me, there's a lifetime of self-doubt and low self-esteem to wade through before my brain will accept it. Only one person has ever complimented me in that way...and it meant the world to me

I am complimentary to a lot of a women and I do genuinely mean it. Pretty much all of them I am unlikely to ever meet, from all corners of the UK so I'm not gaining anything from it.

I do however undrstand the womans point of view on this and seeing it as a means to getting in your knickers and nothing else.

There and to the left a bit

Very much depends on the compliment AND the complimenter to be honest - I don't tend to believe them either way and will usually make a jokey deflecting or self-deprecating comment in response, although on the occasions they're given and are obviously sincere and genuine then I'll gracefully accept with a thanks and a

Just gonna throw this out there.

If you are complimented by someone you like your more likely to be all gooey over it. Human nature.

Same with attention. Its wanted off a hotty. Unwanted off a not so hotty.

Generally speaking anyways.

Personally i give compliments out a fair bit. Most often on here in the forum and on random threads. How the individual takes them is up to them. Also dont care if i get called a white knight or suck up because of it. I say it how i see it. Take it or leave it.

Compliments about how I look etc I take with a pinch of salt unless it's from someone I know.

Compliments on my personality usually give me a lump in my throat. Regardless of what I look like my personality is me, it's my whole being and to have people say positive things about my soul is very humbling.

Its all part of fab life. Indeed all life. Take the compliment. If its bs its bs. Decide whether to meet soneone off here based on other factors not whether they compliment you or not. Happened to me once off here. My pics where considered worthy of a Phwoar. Yes i did have pics up previously lol.

That grabbed my attention and we messaged back and forth a bit and eventually met for a brew. Isnt that how this works after all?

I should add that I don't get any compliments in real life. Folk just usually tell me how tall i am, like i didn't already know. It's gotten a bit old now so i just smile and move on quick before they start taking the piss out of me (i.e how's the weather up there).
