"Just a quick question folks. Is there a snse of anger or fear or hoplessnes in England at the moment? What do people think will happenn next?" Anger certainly, most of it directed toward the vermin who did the rioting. How no one was burnt alive is an extreme slice of luck. some anger toward the Politicians of all persuasions also. Fear, not here but then again i doubt they will riot in this neck of the woods. Hopelessness, never 'cos that is similar to giving in and letting the pond life win. Hopefull that the trend of the last cpl of decades of 'wooly liberalism' will be re_iewed. Humbled by the families of the 3 murdered guys in Brum. Pride in how a lot of people across the 'spectrum' have responded. As usual lessons to be learned, think there will be a move to the right as a knee jerk in the short term.

The sense of disempowerment, said to be one of the root causes, may have something to do with England being the only part of the UK not to have some sort of devolved government.

"It would be good to have a young peoples question time too to get their _iews across they are not all bad. A lot of it is frustration amongst the young they don't seem to have a voice. I do not condone any of the rioting. But with children living in poverty, school closures and cuts, student loans increasing take the student pickets a little while ago were they heard no prices still went up. There are a lot of angry youngsters and if they are not heard then the rioting will continue. This country is getting worse it is broken. And unless someone stands up and the government has to pay attention. We were unhappy under a Labour party and we had a hung Parliament when we voted last and they said the people would have a voice but we have not. Where are all our local mps they have gone back into hiding. Not one of the acting cabinet were on the panel on question time why is that. There are so many things that this government has to answer too. But when it comes down to it nobody has got a bloody clue." +1 By the way, there are no cabinet ministers on the panel people are pis**d! They saw what happened to Boris and Nick!

"They dare not have a youth Question Time...it would mean we would have to admit to ourselves that this 'Hoody' tribe exists.....we would prefer to carry on believing that they, and their problems will go away if we carry on pretending they don't actually live amongst us. They are unpallatable to middle England, like the mentally handicapped offspring that used to get tucked away in an early 20th century asylum so that no-one would know about them....lest they embarrass the family. Now we all have to face up to the facts that indeed they do exist, are a pest to our communities, and that there are underlying reasons that have stacked up to make them this way. We have had a wake up call...time to address that." +1 They were happy to let the police and teachers deal with these kids. Then the problem spilled out. They have to look long and hard now!

"Thing is.... There is more money spent on kids and by kids now then there was when i was growing up. We didnt fit into the equasion unless it was school. end of. Most didnt have loads of money going into communities, youth clubs, etc. We literally had sod all and def no computers, bedrooms equipped with half hundred weight of electrical good, iphones, blackberrys...you name it...they got it. most of our clothes were hand me downs, charity shop or hand made. One tv for the entire house and no central heating. Toys were a luxury and so we made our own. stilts, gocarts, went biking on bikes my dad put together out of bits. got a little green net and we would be out for hrs trying to catch sticklebacks in a jam jar. And no, im not talking dak ages here ok, i aint THAT old. What we did have was good parenting on the whole, good morals and values and a work ethic. and a respect for our fellow man. Those qualities which are so sadly lacking in todays society. Thats the backbone of any country because without those, were no better than animals.... which has been shown on the streets of our cities. " What you say has some truth...guess we`re mostly of the same generation.. But the landscape and culture is radically different..in so so many ways....reflected in the behaviour of its citizens...

"But......... there aint nothing wrong in keeping and teaching the same values and decent moral standards . thats whats wrong today, we have a generation that wouldnt know how to bloody spell it, let alone teach it. " No....you have sections of a generation that act in this way....not a whole generation. And that is what half the problem is, too many people not prepared to give this generation half a chance because a small minority amongst them show signs of badness.

Agree, think we all have dealt with both very decent clued up younger people and some that you just kinda feel in a way sorry for, blissfully clueless to the point its scarey how the hell they will get along in life, why is that ?
