I normally shave my head every week. Lately I've been letting myself go and haven't done so for over 2 weeks now.

Upshot is is that I've discovered I'm going gray

This is still sinking in, I'm not quite sure how I feel about this yet. How did you feel when it happened to you?

You know I dye my hair right?

I'm sure I had my first greys before I was 20. I'm wanting to stop dying now, to let the grey ones through so they can take super bright dye.

I would happily go bright colours, but the upkeep is just a mission and hard work getting it ready to start with.

Rambling. I'm rambling

I have a winning combination of my hair starting to thin out, a slow creeping hairline and grey appearing at the same time.

I started finding the odd silver hair before I hit my teens so I've kind of got used to them as they've slowly encroached. Plus the rest of my hair is so dark they tend to stick out. Sometimes I dye them, sometimes I let them grow out a bit since having a silver parting doesn't really bother me - apart from the fact other people always feel they have the right to point it out. I grew my pubes back a bit last year and discovered I had a silver patch there as well though. That was a moment.

I spotted my first grey hair at 23 but with a father that was erm badger coloured and a totally white haired grandfather it was pretty easy to except my fate.

It's not taken over as fast as I expected and I take comfort in the fact that both of my grandads died with full heads of hair so at least I need not worry about baldness.

Oh, the dismay of seeing the first grey hair on my head was quite something... but that was a few years back. Then there was the first grey hair on my chin last year, which was a shock.

And this year I found a pure white one in amongst my chest wig!...

I'm dreading the eventual appearance of one downstairs...
