So the unlucky 13 got me

And also the post a thread for a change

So thought I would if it leaps into life cool

Anyway

Do you feel you can't walk under a ladder and have to walk round it

Do you throw salt over your shoulder when you have dropped some

When you see a black cat when driving do you let it cross your path

Magpies when you see one..do you look for another

Ok fabbers it's now upto you ...go forth and say your piece ....

I'm not really superstitious - but I won't walk under ladders. Not because I believe it's bad luck, it's just common sense isn't it that someone could drop something!

I was just about to say, I'll walk under a ladder, but look up first to make sure no one could drop anything on me

I am superstitious though if walking over grates though (I think they are actually covers for water or gas access) if there is 2 then it's fine but I won't walk over 3. I can blame my parents for that

I used to be quite superstitious,

Dropped keys, stand on them before picking up.

Not walk under ladders.

Spilt salt, chuck some over shoulder.

Avoid 13.

Broken mirror, oh fuck another 7 years bad luck.

Now I just avoid marriage.

And if I'm walking with somebody and we have to be separated by an imovable object such as bollard or sign post I cross my fingers to avoid an argument with them

I don't walk under ladders, and look for a 2nd magpie. Also another one I do is if I drop a knife I don't pick it up as it was always said to us that we would have an argument. X

I'm not at all superstitious, though I do say and do things out of habbit like "touch wood" or not wanting to "tempt fate".

As a teenager, I used to walk under ladders (after checking) just to wind people up

Same reason for me (although the superstition is that, the triangle of building, floor, ladder represents a 'doorway' to bad JuJu)

I do both shoulders to make sure.

Neither do I, but to have a black cat cross my path is immensely fortunate

I love counting them to the nursery rhyme. I always say morning Mr Magpie and salute him (assuming it is a he. Superstitions eh )

Touch wood is reference to Jesus baring the cross and tempt fate is the temptation of Christ (may have originally been tempt 'faith') I think.
