France

No Not that sort. I live in France and it is the custom on meeting people to give a bise. A kiss on each side of the cheek.

It seems to be the custom here for 3 pecks which I have now got used to. The other day a French friend was passing HE stopped got from his van came over put his hands firmly on my shoulders and bised me 3 times

Whats your thoughts?

It's culshure innit.

I'd embrace it as it just seems the done thing, it'll soon become comfy with you. It's already the normal thing to do for everyone else

You see I lived in France for a long time and I still fait la bise to all of my female friends here. Observers sometimes read it wrong.

Where I lived man bises were reserved for very close friends or family members.

Another way of looking at it is you've been fully welcomed into their community. If that's the case, congrats to you

The Italians are the same

Us Brits are a tad cold i guess at times and not very tactile.

Stiff upper lip and all that.
