When you look at some couples profiles (no I am not an idiot single male who e-mails couples not looking for single males) they have professional couple seeks etc

Now I know they don't mean professional swinger. They mean professional in their job but what has that got to with the price of fish? They never say will only meet other professional couples so why put it in the profile? Are they just boasting they have good well paid jobs? If so why lol? I am curious to know.

Waits for the flames from some professional couples

A professional is usually someone who sits on the fence, won't make a decision till it becomes obvious, and then tells you that that was what they thouht and said all along despite the evidence of your eyes and ears!

I hate it when I see that word. Nine times out of ten they don't even know what it means, running your business doesn't make you a professional.

Even those that can call themselves that, it certainly doesn't make them a better person. I've met doctors and teachers who, while experts in their field, are actually as thick as shit outside of it, and have a personality to match.

dont think we have it in our profile, it doesnt make you a better person, or better at sex or anything like that, but it does say a few things, (not stuck up tossers as posted earlier) like, both are working, so usually some planning for a meet is in order, have a fairly decent standard of living, nice home etc, (nothing stuck up about that everyone wants to be comfortable on a meet, and they probably expect the same) theres loads of reasons, we are what you,d call a profesional couple, in that we both have a profession, somthing we have trained for and both excell at, and while we meet anyone (we are also complete sluts lol) we do enjoy meeting other young profesional couples as obviously we have a bit in common, just as 2 couples on jobseekers would, or 2 couples retired or on the sick

I asked this question in another thread a fewdays ago, there are s many 'professional' people on this site but very few say what kind of profession they are in and it would be good if they could all spell the word. quick look this morning of the last 100 who have viewed our profile and there are four different spellings!

Proffessional

Profesional

Profissional

Professional

hhmmmmm

bet not one of em is a Pro footballer though

A quick look of the last 100 ....on the ball this morning!!

based on the description given earlier on a professional then im sure most on this site could call themselves that if they so desired.......i trained for my job.....my employer im sure thinks i excel in my role.........i am more than happy with my standard of living....have a nice house......but just wouldnt call myself a professional. A doctor yes....teacher....possibly....a lawyer yes.....to me its a little bit of snobbery to imply "i have a degree" and im better than some of you!!! I would love to hear how they define better.........at the end of the day being better isnt a patch on being happy......have a nice day folks xx

Well we have it on ours and dont see any problem at all with it. _eznhannah hit the nail dead on the head with her reply. It shows meets take planning and we can be very very busy as we run two buisness with M offten working 9 am till gone midnite 7 days a week.

It has nothing to do with better paid after all you can have a professional LOW paid job

It has noting to do with being unemployed after all you can be a professional who has become unemployed.

It has nothing to do with snobbery. We are down to earth and common as hell.

It has nothing to do with being itelagent or being able to spell. After all Enistien was intelligent couldnt spell was dyslexic

We have been at this a good while now and judge as we find. As the great MR R said

" Dont judge a book by its cover unless you cover just anouther coss blind acceptance is a sign of stupid fools who stand in line"

Take people as you find em and lets all have some naughty fun.

Would you prefer it for people to put "out of work lay about couple" or "couple on benefits". It tells people something about a person or couple just the same as height, weight, size ect. Cant see the harm in people using it as a way of describing who or what they are.

good old Wikipedia gives the following

Definition

Main criteria for professional include the following:

Academic qualifications - a doctoral or law degree - i.e., university college/institute.

Expert and specialised knowledge in field which one is practising professionally.[6]

Excellent manual/practical and literary skills in relation to profession.[7]

High quality work in (examples): creations, products, services, presentations, consultancy, primary/other research, administrative, marketing or other work endeavours.

A high standard of professional ethics, behaviour and work activities while carrying out one's profession (as an employee, self-employed person, career, enterprise, business, company, or partnership/associate/colleague, etc).

Reasonable work moral and motivation. Having interest and desire to do a job well as well as holding positive attitude towards the profession are important elements in attaining a high level of professionalism.[8]

In Britain and elsewhere, professionalism is often designated by Royal Charter.

bet that rither kills or enlivens the debate

Its not about people thinking there better or worse than anyone else its that people tend to mix within their own circles.People are attracted to those with a similar background and interests. Its different if you met in a club as you dont know a persons background ect but first impressions count in a profile. Would you look at a profile where the person was dressed scruffy or dirty? No you wouldnt but you would if they dressed to impress.Just the same way as a good profile attracts attention.

If there is one thing we have learned in this life for sure.. and its often used on our profile.

It isn't what you have nor how much you own, its how you are that counts!

Makes no difference how good 'you' think you are if everyone else thinks your an arse eh!

A good profile/advert will get more attention than a bad one. Same in all walks life.Basics really.Come across as being attractive, well presented and appealing then people will view. They may not like what the see when they read the small print but it at least got their attention.

This is one of the nastiest threads i've read.

Quite bitter in parts.

In many other threads everyone - to a man - says they have to be able to click with a person before they can fuck them. Putting professional - probably means they are hoping to swing with someone similar to themselves.

I put intelligent on mine. It's a very subjective statement but not a waste of time nor a comment against anyone else. It's a statement about how I see ME.

'Professional' can - and does - as shown in the thread have many different interpretations put on it but the idea that those who put professional on their profile think themselves superior came from the head of someone who thinks themselves inferior.

If this thread was reversed and a bunch of 'professionals' sat here slagging off others then you could say something. In fact it's been done the other way around ... highly illuminated inverted snobbery!

In this day an age I scratch my head at all this. I do find it a little irritating the “professional” badge some use as to try and distance them selfs from what I can only presume they see as riff raff.

Ok there are some who don’t see it that way and put it down to social groups or other things but I don’t know. Sometimes professional comes across as “stuck up fooka”. Not everyone but on the odd occasion you all must have sucked in your breath and winced at reading certain things. Would like to think I will meet who appeals to me not what sort of car they have or of they have axminster carpets. Think on many an ex company director is working in B&Q or some other place these days.

Personally I love it when I see “friendly down to earth couple/woman” on a profile. Really don’t think its what you do or what you are its how you interact and if the fuck buzz is there.

*quickly goes to make sure the P word isn’t on his profile*

FFS - I dread to think where "Truck driver" fits into all this

After all, My mate had x2 £60 fines imposed last week for lack of professionalism

"This is one of the nastiest threads i've read.

"

Its only bitter if people take it that way and take it too seriously

"well time for my bi-anual bath (6 mths)

before you think any thing in to it back with the rest of you later (thinks i buggerd up a shag with mr-mrs jones )lol

Hold your horses, bi annual means every 2 years, not every 6 months, put that soap away you fool, you smell fine from here!

get your soap back out ...bi annual is twice a year ...biennial is every two years - tho to be fair its easily confused !

passes soap"

Yes of course I stand corrected, that's twice now since 1974
