Evening all Apologies if this is a regular thread - I'm quite new here and also it's not the most erotic of topics I know ....

How often do you get tested?

And when you meet (especially with new people) do you discuss it? do you just take their word for it that they are clear or to you ask for evidence?!

(I alway use comdoms for penetration but not for oral)

Get tested every three months - is a quick and simple process at the local sexual health clinic and not at all embarrassing. In fact the staff there are quite impressed by the level of knowledge of the regular swingers that attend, not to mention their commitment to getting tested regularly.

I have regular 3 monthly tests including bloods, just for my own piece of mind, even though I always use condoms and practice safe sex, no form of protection is always 100% safe!

So for my health & the sake of my partner's this is something that is very important to me.

dont really discuss it with people as most say they are tested regularly but you only have their word. Many clinic's dont even send messages now unless there is a problem.

Tend to get tested every 4 to 6 weeks.. even though we havent been as active as previous years. Its habit and we dont use condoms for oral...

We get tested, including blood, every three months. We've done mail tests before and we've gone in person. To be honest, I had a hard time with doing my blood test when we tested via mail, but that's mostly because I'm terrified of blood and I was chicken shit about it.

I have been tested twice in the last 6 months so i guess 3 monthly. Hampshire nhs do the postal service and text results. X

Think the set up may vary from clinic to clinic but our local one does a walk-in testing service four days a week and usually the wait is no more than 20 mins or so.

Also is it worrying that I'm the only single male profile to have posted so far

Order a test around midnight though. They tend to go quick due to funding cuts!

We have. You have to request it specifically, though. When we go in we tell them we want everything, including throat swab and blood tests.

You have to ask, but as various sti's can live in the throat it's a key test for those engaging in unprotected oral IMO.

You can still catch STI's via unprotected oral... Regular check ups, honest and trust is key

Got tested at Vanilla Alternative last month. They have volunteers from the Terrence Higgins Trust attending on certain nights who do blood, pee and poo samples and swabs then text you the results when done. Quite reassuring and nicer than having to go to the hospital gum clinic.

Yep always thought them offering that on a regular basis a great, not to mention responsible thing and used their services when attending a bi night last year - don't know if other clubs offer similar but if they don't they should.

Every 3 months minimum but often more frequently - though I have a quiet lifestyle.

I'm guessing that there are people who don't test much - but won't shout about it. People who may be living a hidden lifestyle, with partners in the dark at home, where unusual absences etc could produce trouble.

Protect yourself and thus others.
