i will comment.

this is a myth. we do not have a higher tolerance for pain, this was made up so that medicine could save money on painkillers. it was also 'thought' ethnic minorities had the same low tolerance as well.

in poor areas they actually eat insects coz they are plentiful. i've seen videos of kids capturing ants or using pans to collect flies and turn them into a tasty paste. high in protein apparently too.
