A Verry good film.

Very mutch worth seeing.

Not mutch to say about it but its a very good film.

Thay have clearly dun thar histrey homework in this film in my opinion.

Going tomorrow so no spoilers please.

Reminds me of a mate after i saw Titanic when i told him when the ship sinks the special effects are unreal and he was like FFS don't spoil it for me i haven't seen it yet.

Yeah the 3 stories don't take place at the same time, you have to read the captions at the beginning, one is over a week, one a day, and one an hour. 3 separate stories in one.

Watch on the biggest screen with the best sound system you can. The music score is as epic as the action. Enjoy.

It baffles me that people do this. The film is offered in so many different cinema formats; 70mm, 35mm, IMAX. Watching a crappy pirated copy doesn't compare.

I get what you are saying and I won't watch a crappy pirate copy, will wait for it to come out properly. But I find cinemas a mostly unpleasant experience, too loud, with the disgusting smells and weird distractions of other people using phones, rustling food etc.

Would probably make the effort more if there were good films, but over the last dozen years I can't think of any that were worth seeing.

cheapest ticket where i am on first month of release is btween £10 and 20 pounds

its a taxi there and back one cinema is 2 miles other is 5 miles

Yep. Just watched it tonight.

I think it's one of the best films I've seen for a while

Minimal dialogue. Visceral visual story-telling and the three concurrently running plots really add to the crescendo of the films pace.

Very similar to Nolan's past pacing of the multi-levelled inception plotlines

I don't think you're looking hard enough. Look beyond the multiplexes and see what's being played at independent theatres. I've seen about 5 or so this year alone which I would happily have paid twice to see.

I've never really had this issue, but I do try and go to multiplexes when it's quiet. Small cinemas are pretty good for respectful clients.

If you go in expecting saving private Ryan style action you're going to be very disappointed.

I think the way it was filmed was perfect, it captured what Dunkirk was perfectly.

The dark undertones and the music was flawless for setting the scene without cramming it full of dialogue to tell the story.

The French rear guard action at Dunkirk has always been under played by the British, the old French retreat jokes are not really true, the British sacrificed alot to keep the French in the war fighting while the French were under the impression that Germany would soon "ring the British chickens neck" prompting Churchills famous reply "some chicken, some neck".

Just seen it and its a cracking film Nolan has captured the desolation of how the troops must of felt on the beach.

My only one criticism is i found Hans zimmers score a little overbearing and claustrophobic at times.

But saying that with out giving to much away his sublime take of Elgar nimrod combined with Churchill's we will never surrender speech was perfect.

IMAX was awesome and the sound made it feel more immersive.

On treatment of subject matter it seemed to cover many of aspects of emotion and conflicts people would have.
