"I'll have a quick browse during a break or at lunch. And sometimes walking between meetings etc. I have my work to do, and don't leave work until it's done. Sometimes that might be 15 minutes later than if I hadn't looked at Fab or Twitter or BBC News online. But I find I work better if I give myself 2 minutes mental break between tasks or meetings than being in a constant state of stress / focus. Seriously, if you're constantly 'on the go' all day long with no (short, obviously, I'm not advocating taking the piss) mental breaks that isn't good for your physical or mental wellbeing. " Our profession tried working to rule for 3 days, in a bid to achieve coffee/meal breaks. Chaos reigned. Nothing changed. Recruitment crisis intensifies. I wonder why

"What's work?" See you're a cousin across the pond, if it's a serious question then work means employment, the opposite of vacation although you wouldn't think so judging from some posts! Someone actually asking for someone to chat to in down the advance of going to work, wtf! no wonder we're going down the pan!

"I have a flexible working policy. As long as I do the work I'm required to do each week, it doesn't matter when I do it. Means I can nose at Fab if I want to. " I'm the same, as long as the hours get done in the week, it doesn't matter what time I put them in (with a bit of common sense and working time directive prevailing) Makes meeting a lot easier

I ocassionally get the same argument from people at work to which I reply "it's not job and knock"

I ocassionally get the same argument from people at work to which I reply "it's not job and knock"" Not underemployed, just work in a field which can sustain flexibility and with the added bonus of a great and modern employer. The work always gets done, I have the flexibility to split a day or work my hours back on different days as long as the work gets done

"Cannot look at my phone at work even for a message, let alone fab. It does make it more exciting thinking about what I'm coming home to though, lots of updates and maybe some nice messages " I'm the same, I personally see no reason why the vast majority of people need a mobile while at work, if I could I'd ban them!

I am about to enforce the already in place and ignored ban on phones. Don't think it will go down well but we are customer facing and there is nothing worse as a customer seeing someone who is meant to be serving you ignoring you for their phone. I think we could all benefit from some more one to one, face to face time anyway

"Due to the nature of my work it can get really busy for a few hours and then nothing to do for the next few hours. So to pass the time while I'm doing nothing I go and sit in reception and have a chat on here. They often here me laughing or saying ewwwwww or yuk and they ask what I'm doing and my answer is usally NOTHING I'm just chatting to friends lol x " With all die respect and without knowing what it is that you exactly do, I'd say you was underemployed and how before your "spare time" becomes your main time?

I sometimes do my work on my phone. Or, my work is playing football in the park with the big kids, or upstairs playing on the xbox, and I'm sitting at a picnic table, or in the sitting room on my own. I either read, or do something on my phone, which can include Fab.

"I'm now employing myself as a full time fabber, the hours are long, pay is crap but good bonuses! lol" I'm like that shop keeper who sits at the counter waiting for a customer. When one pops in, I jump up excited. 'Can I help you?'

Yep, that's what I thought Probably are but I was reacting to amount of posts which actually state they're at work. " Ah I see, I misread your OP. Then I would say they probably have a slight Fab addiction, should put the phone away & get on with their work. Or report to my office & prepared to be spanked for such unprofessional conduct in the work place...

I have a mentally and emotionally draining job, so complete breaks are very important to enable me to do my job effectively. Fab works for that sometimes.

"This feels a little like people are justifying when they go on fab. Do what you like" I find it quite fascinating, without having to ask someone outright how they spend the amount of time they do. An array of different reasons. People have freewill to reply or not

"This feels a little like people are justifying when they go on fab. Do what you like" I don't have to justify how I spend my time. I'm working all day today and I'm going to be on and off here and reading a book, for most of it. Isn't life grand
