What were you like?

So on the back of MisterBee's thread how have you changed?

What were you like as a child/teen/young adult compared to now?

Is there anything about yourself you like to have back?

I was extremely shy as a child. I would go days without speaking to anyone and as a teen I still struggled with social situations.

Now I still feel anxious but I cope a lot better.

There and to the left a bit

I was horrible - arrogant, firey, easily wound up, and generally a pain in the arse - but the lessons I learned from that have made me what I am today so wouldn't change it.

Pretty much the same.

Quiet at first but then outgoing.

Bit of a party animal. Not much has changed except my energy levels

Yeah I guess I was a shy wee boy Hopster; I wasn't too comfortable in social situations and was never cool enough to be in with the in crowd. The only thing I'd have back would be to be care free!

I was shy, not confident. Let people mistreat me, and thought that was ok. Not very pretty looking, a lot like I am now but getting more confident in many ways. X

Somewhere

I was very shy until i turned 18 and started going out, The problem was i relied on the ale to much to be social. I dont drink as much nowadays but do miss the antics that came with it

I was always the quiet one in the background, taking absolutely everything in. I was difficult to get to know as I created a barrier that was hard to get past.

I'm pretty much still the same now, I've a small group of really close friends that know me but most people would see me as quite a private person

I was always the joker, the bonkers one who would rather do cartwheels than walk, jump on people's backs to be carried everywhere....not a lot has changed really....

I was an absolute cow. Rebelled against everything and everyone.. only thing I did stick at was my studies.. until I hit 18. Then I joined the army.. left the village I lived in and became a person of worth. 22 years later and I'm out of the army.. the only thing I would change would be the way I treat people before I left.

Honestly.... I'm more like the teen me than I ever was.

I have a longer fuse now than I did back then and obviously an awful lot wiser.

I was immature, unworldly, much better looking than I realised, not as clever as I thought I was and too inclined to not look before I leapt.

I wouldn't have anything back.

Edinburgh

When I was in primary school I was shy, not comfertable in social situations and not confident. Lost in my own little world at times.

On the plus side, the girls loved me since I was a cute kid.

When I hit the teenage years I was much the same, execept puberty took hold and the cuteness seemed to go away.

some where central

Teenage years were very experimental... late teens - early 30' ... party animal...

30's - now.... still a bit of a party animal when I can be bothered to make the effort to go out... much happier sitting in at the weekend with a few drinks, a takeaway and a good movie/ box set to binge on....

I was pretty balanced. Had a lot of friends. Quite confident and friendly. Didn't do anything to concern my parents.

I suffer with slight anxiety now. worry easily about inconsequential and silly things. I'd like a bit of that balanced mind-set back.

I am so very different outwardly now to the incredibly shy youth that I was. At school I used to pull the neck of my jumper up past over my nose so you could only see my eyes And if a girl spoke to me I'd say something short and piss takey so as to hide my blushes

At school I was a geek, I excelled in physics and walked around with my nose in a book. I was, as I still am, a bit of a joker/loon but I really loved school.

Until I hit the last year and life turned to shit.

I had no interest in boys or anything

I was very quiet and introverted. Somewhat of a misfit. All too often I let myself get crushed in the stampede. Even though it has helped to shape me into the person I am now (and I still carry some of those traits), I would never want to go back to that me or that time.

I was pretty much the same awesome person I am now.

I was a really really big tomboy, though. I lived in basketball shorts, always had my hair in a ponytail, and all the guys in school came to me when they needed to borrow the basketball in my locker. Although, that also meant I didn't date much

I was soooo shy around girls and women.

I'd blush really easily.

It took me until well into my twenties to develop that side.

The only thing I wouldn't mind is my pre-pregnancy figure... No mum tum.

I had a great childhood on the whole but wouldn't want to go back.

Though it'd be nice to see loved ones who have died. I would love to have had the opportunity to know my aunt and grandad as an adult.

Generally I think I'm a much better person as an adult. I'm less volatile than I used to be and less impulsive, which is all good. I'm also more comfortable in my own skin, and even less likely to simply follow the crowd or worry about what other people think.

I was just as moody, but happier, as all my favourite people were alive.

Now i'm moody and miserable without so much as a regular cock to give me

Solace.

Meh.

Preston.....ish

As a child I was quiet. I was the chubby kid hiding at the back of the class getting picked last for the obligatory teams during P.E

As a teen I found that being the funny guy a joker made me more popular. I found that girls started to pay me attention however, I soon discovered that this was because they thought I was cute (a teenage boy doesn't want to be cute).

I was still picked last for P.E

Now, I still like to make people laugh but only if they deserve my humour.

I treat everyone as I would like to be treated in return unless they have asked differently.

I don't do P.E anymore.

I was like this but without breasts and a ponytail.

My youngest does the same thing - takes a basketball or football to school everyday. Thankfully he's better behaved though.

Iceland, but Aldi is closer..

As a kid, I don't think I did anything different to anyone else..

I grew up with a close group of friends, it was good..

As a teen, I left school and went into the forces, I was with a close group of lads, we looked out for each other.. It was good.

In my 20's I had left the forces and worked in the music industry, I worked with a good group of guys, we were close and it was good..

I am now back in defence, I have a close group I work with, it's stressful and can be dangerous. We look after each other both in welfare and safety.. It's good..

I have found I have moved away from my past and have very little contact with my old school friends, service buddies and music industry mates. This saddens me at times, but we have different interests and different social scenes.

I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling that all that friendship I built in the past was lost and it probably wouldn't have taken much to maintain it, just life gets in the way and we put it off until tomorrow..

Maybe next time round I would have learnt by the mistakes of this life, although bloody unlikely.

Shy and introverted, then went through a period of forcing myself to be extroverted, ultimately of course that drove me off the rails.

Now I'm back to my true nature, but no longer shy
