Guys - do you put the toilet seat down when you are done?

Women - do you expect it to be put down for you? Does it even bother you?

I'd rather it was down, but only because I prefer the lid down when it is flushed, isn't that meant to be more hygienic?

Depends if the dirty fucker has pissed on it. I ain't fussy, I'm happy to put the seat down providing it has no splash back on it. That is a sure fire way to evoke rage. Or if I'm booby trapped into sitting in someone else's piss. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhh

Seat down every time. The lid should be put down after use too, even if it's not gonna be flushed.

If it's yellow let in mellow.

If it's brown flush it down

No it doesn't bother me if it's left up or down.

It's quite easy to put it down if it's left up

A world of my own

I live with 3 boys, I'm just delighted if there's no puddle on the floor or splashes on the seat!

I've trained my boys to sit down to wee so it's not an issue here. I really don't mind as long as they leave it clean and splash free.

Its hygienic to leave it down and looks tidier. You dont leave the bin lid open do you?

Oh im talking lids. not the toilet seat itself that should always be left down after use along with the lid

The seat goes down in our home. I like the lid closed because I saw a show once about how far water (and the bacteria it contains) can spray out of a flushed toilet.

Marc puts it down because he likes being nice to me.

Putting the lid down when flushing helps stop fecel matter becoming airborne particularly important if someone has diarrhoea!

Down! although Harry would disagree, plus the cat has a strange habit of wanting to drink from the toilet bowl (clean water i might add!)despite having plentiful water elsewhere.. and he's rather on the tubby side , wouldn't want him to slip and get wedged in! April

Seat down in our house or the wife goes mad .

But just going slightly off topic, how annoying is it to have men not lift the seat before peeing?!? I work on building sites and the amount of times this happens is beyond belief! There's even urinals!!!!

I live in a house with three girls, so out of consideration and habit now leave it down. I do however also put the lid down too and smirk to myself when I think they have to use more effort lifting the lid than they would putting the seat down.

I'm lucky that my seat won't stay up on my toilet and I always put the lid down and tell others to do it as my cats try and jump on the seat and I don't want them to fall in!

I can't help thinking that anyone who doesn't realise the value of putting the seat and lid down before flushing, probably has a similarly blasé attitude towards hand washing too.

Central

For Feng shui purposes, the toilet and seat should be clean and covered when not in use.

One then prepares, uses, cleans and Feng shuis the bog as appropriate. Chi is all.

I usually put it down, just for containment... You wouldn't want an alligator leaping out during the night.

My Own Little World

The lid needs to be closed before you flush because of the 'toilet plume' which can spray pee n shit 15 feet round your bathroom. I have enough mopping puddles after the males without cleaning the ceilings as well.
