No...it's a small section of the youth of today...

A 22 year old Royal Marine was killed in Afghanistan at the weekend....I would cite that as a better example of the youth of today and the tremendous good they can do for our country.

God bless him...and the countless young men out there doing that incredible job.

sadly people make sweeping statements i don't feel they are meaning to offend but i'm sure we are all guilty of it from time to time regardless

i was a teenage mum and had to listen to people making sweeping statements about that but yet they never took into consideration that we were married well before we started our family had our own home to bring our family into and both worked to support our family in their eyes we were just teenage parents

we are now still married 22 years later with 2 incredibly well adjusted sons one of which is in the army the other in the service industry

so they too are the youth of today and i personally think doing rather well thankyou but even though the majority of todays youth are good uns it doesn't help their case when a small percentage of the youth of today are acting like a right bunch of arseholes it does cloud peoples _iew just slightly i'm affraid

My rant at the youth of today isnt about YOU.

iTS about the situation we are all finding ourselves in...

Riots, looting, arson and total disrespect for the law.

If you wish to include yourself with that lot, then i cant stop ya.

Im saying the youth of today have had it pretty soft so far, and now they gotta start paying back

If the youth of today have had it pretty soft then it was given to them pretty soft by their elders. So maybe their elders would like to start 'paying back' for their bad examples and lack of guidance.

I totally agree that many youngsters are hard working and great to be around in the workplace.

That's an unfortunate coincidence. Young people are lively, fun, and have a kind of innocence and intensity that is important in the world. They often see things as black and white which can be idealistic and needed in the world but also tends to make them take things to heart instead of shrugging things off as someone more experienced probably would. They are just different from more experienced people, not better or worse, just different. I generalise of course. Try not to let it affect who you are. People who say nasty unjustified things are saying more about themselves than their targets.

The kids are alright I think.

Sure you get a few donuts like the pillocks at McDonalds shining a laser pen in my eyes when I'm cycling on a main road but that's life.

You find nice young folks sometimes in the least expected places. Not every young person in a hoody is a threat.

Good luck to them. They're our future.

There are good and bad in all age groups. Yes there may be some youngsters on the rampage right now but many others serving overseas in roles that I certainly don't have the guts to do..

Yes the young are looting and causing unbelievable damage but the parents are just to blame.

If you find it insulting to be referred to as such, perhaps you need to grow up a bit more?

We need bigger playgrounds for them. The Victorians used Australia and that didn't work out too badly.

There is still a lot of outback left we could populate, put the buggers all together and let them work out what civilised means for themselves. It worked before!

You don't have to go that far!

Around 200 years go, Scottish authrities took prisoners out onto deserted islands and dumped them there. Food and water supplies would be taken in intermittently, but other than that, there was nothing.

Maybe a modern day version is needed!

Or maybe, instead of the Taxpayers having to fork out for all the clear up of the mess etc, those responsible are put to work clearing it all, but witha difference!

They used their hands to destroy property etc. They can use just their hands to clear it all up; overnight, they can camp out in the wrecked buildings!

Personally, if it was me in charge, once I'd found the assholes who created specific crimes against specific areas, I'd return them to that area and dump them there, with of course, prior publicity and let the locals sort them out.
