Me and a few friends are all off to Manchester for a day sesh.

Can anyone recommend where the best pubs are? Or if there is a decent pub crawl.

Were getting the train there so directions from the train station will be great.

thanks

Don't think it make much difference less then a mile between them and full of pubs between them.

Manchester

The Salisbury (bit of a rockers pub) followed by the temple of convenience (more of a cool bar/hipster place) followed by The Vine (proper pub, all sorts)

First 2 are on Oxford Road which is 10 minutes walk away from Piccadilly, the vine is just behind the library which is 2 mins from the temple. The Peverill on the peak is just down the road from the temple as well away from Oxford road. All have good jukeboxes, salisbury and peverill have pool tables too. If there's a few of you i'd just jump in a cab from Piccadilly to Oxford road.

Up in the northern quarter the castle/Gullivers/fringe bar are all within 30 seconds walk of each other and are all pretty good. The bay horse is a nice pub 2-3 mins away from those 3. All play decent music.

Hope that helps.

Mr

Then - Go to Corbieres, just off St Anne's Square. Pop a couple of quid in the jukebox (best juke box in Manchester).

Oyster bar. Cheap, good starting pub.

Moon under water, wetherspoons for a beer and a burger.

Northern Quarter for anything funky.

Few in Dog Bowl, have a few beers, play a few frames of bowling.

Northern England

The Castle Hotel on Oldham St is a great pub - Wonderful selection of ales, great vibe, and live music too.
