I find there is a distinct difference between making love and having sex, am I alone.

Which happens more for you with your partner, sex or making love.

Making love is at a complete differ end if the sex spectrum for me. It balances out filthy/dirty sex.

Sex.....raw,hard,fast, primal

Making love...soft,caressing whispers ,moans, fingertips slowly touching

There is definitely a vast difference but there is something in between.

I have two regular partners. One who is a very dear friend, the sex is amazing and we share tender moments after sex such as kissing and caressing which is lovely but it's definitely not making love, there's no love involved.

The other, well as above the sex is amazing but at times while we are having sex it feels very much like love making. Yet we do not have regular contact, do not share personal chat, we just hook up when we both feel the need. Definitely no love involved but it feels so special and very different from my other friend.

I must admit I do feel a little confused sometimes after we have played.

It's just different words used to describe what happens between us. There is always love at the base of it between me and my partner. We have never laid hands on each other with anything but love.

Making love - when you don't even realise you stop part way through because you simply cannot pull your gaze from theirs. Where you don't want to blink for fear of breaking that eye contact.

When you feel completely vulnerable yet you are prepared to bare everything in just a look.

It is to me, I just wondered if because of the obvious emotional energy involved in truly making love, if sex becomes the default or vice versa.

I think both are needed in a relationship but I think I know which is the most neglected.

Yes, though both involve love. Sometimes it's just that get naked and get to it hot and rampant sex. Then other times it's more taking the time to watch every response to your touch, your kisses. How your bodies respond to each other. Having that deep connection, that is more love making. Well a simplistic view of it. X

There's lust filled, passionate fuckery. Then there's making love. Both can happen with the same person.

Maybe its just me then but when I had sex with my ex husband I made love.. even if it was a quickie. There was intensity and an emotional connection. I havent felt it with anyone im not in a relatioship with because I dont love them.

this, very well put Nice..

in some ways and not having a pop at the OP given that the descriptive phrases are common place there is so much more than just sex when the person you are with loves you as much as you do them when your being intimate..

Never ever?!!... There was not one time that you were in an embrace with him where you both hold so tight and close and are barely moving against each other and there's a sensation of such intimate...I don't know the word... closeness maybe? Or perhaps oneness is a better term.

There was a difference between in bed sex and out and about sex I suppose.

I'd be fucked in my sleep, I'd cum and orgasm a lot and he would stay inside till he went soft then it would be either him going down and cleaning me up or him wiping me up with a sock!

The above description fits exactly my interpretation of making love. An equal balance of sexual feelings and emotional ones whilst you move together as one.

"I find there is a distinct difference between making love and having sex, am I alone.

Yes, Most definitely. When you make love to someone, it's a special moment between two people... No words or directing, the body language, eye contact, and the sighs of pleasure is all you need.

Sex, is what you make it.
