If you can't sleep try gentle music, rainforest sounds etc.

If it's very quiet your brain starts thinking about the past day or the next day.

The music/sounds couse a ditraction apparently which helps fall asleep.

There are even videos on yo*tube that are deliberately quiet and relaxing/boring to help you drift off...
