Both my Dad and his mate Wally, I swear between them they knew everything.

East Grinstead

Started with newsgroups way back in 1990, which was the way to find out snippets of info before Google existed.

Before that, was an avid reader of encyclopedia's as a kid, and also watched news/read paper.

my parents bought some expensive encylocpedia's and a serious of books designed for children. think there were about 14 books and each was themed (space, ancient history, science, mathmatics, cooking - were just a few titles)

They came with learning cards that once we had read the book we could be tested on things.. i loved those books

To the OP, I have always read a lot, wether that be Newspapers/ books etc, now I know not everything that is in print is true, but you must pick up some truths.

Now my OH doesn't read much, and seems to know everything anyway,so I suppose blows my reason out of the window.... but I ask him if I need to know something, it is quicker than Google.

studies and books mainly but also, magazines, documentaries, discussion, radio programmes.

I really dislike the idea of "reading" on the net or netbooks or whatever those thingies are called. Much rather have some "real" in my hand.

If there is something I do want to read on the net I usuall paste it into word adjust the type for a size that suits me and read it in the "traditional" way.
