Just reduced my monthly mortgage payments significantly.

All I did was call my current lender and ask if they could offer me a better deal.

Moral is the tale...if you don't ask, you don't get.

I did try that and they couldnt reduce it so changed lenders - got a great deal.

I think most people do similar now when their current deal ends. We are renewing this year and with the interest rates as they are we are able to knock 5 years off and pay £10 a month less.
