Is there some sort of stress that you're bottling up during your waking hours? I find that stress effects my dreams.

But a dream catcher, don't eat cheese or bananas in bed. Keep a notebook and pen by your bed and when you can wake from the nightmare quicklybtry and write down some prominent things. Turn your pillow over, have a drink of water. Try and wind down before bed and not watch anything scary.

I dont need to write it down. Its about a man a very muscular man but leprechaun size, in the dark he climbs all over me like a supernatural thing like he demon. Hes naked.

Then I feel my lungs stop moving and im aware of it. It feels like my heart is bursting

I wake up

But hes in different places in my dream

According to a site called The Magic Dream Book, this is what it says about leprechauns:

To dream of a leprechaun represents an aspect of yourself that is very eager to keep you away from total freedom to do as you please. You may be experiencing jealousy or frustration that forces you to be perfect in order to attain your goals. Someone in your life that knows how valuable something is and does everything to deprive you of it.

Leprechauns in dreams may be a sign that through perseverance and dedication you might reap the rewards of your hard work. Negatively, leprechaun dreams may be a sign that you are too focused on quick and easy paths to success.

That's like that bloody film from the 80's that freaked me out for years and to this day I still can't sleep on my back. Stephen kings cats eye when this little troll thing climbs on your chest and steals your breath as you're sleeping!

I talked about it the other day on here, you didn't read my comment did you?

Get a dream catcher, even if it doesn't authentically work it might create a placebo and you'll think it's taking your bad dreams away.

I used to freak myself out, used to have dreams that came true. Dreamt that my ex's mums shop window was smashed and a few days later it was smashed. Dreamt my ex's car was taken and it got stolen! Dreamt about a big mansion being set on fire with kids inside and then that thing was on the news where that guy set fire to his house and killed himself and his family.

I was having real vivid dreams about all kinds of shit, had two sessions of reiki a couple of years ago and they stopped!

Agree with previous poster. Sounds more like sleep paralysis than typical bad dream. Should be some good resources online to deal with it. When I get it, its all just about realising what it is and forcing yourself to realise you are safe and to breathe normally.

Direct your dream. Before you go to sleep determine that the nightmare will take a different course i.e. not be a nightmare. Go through it in your mind but change the feeling around it and the outcome. It might not work straight away but it will eventually.

Oh and also try and work out what your subconscious is trying to tell you. It won't need you to dream it anymore once you've done that.
