Do you just listen to pop and mainstream or do you have your cult heroes, or search out the unusual.

Let's hear your favourites or new finds.

It would seem by the the use of the word sheep that you'd like to take the moral high ground with this one.

I'm assuming you must have a wonderfully vast array of eclectic heroes you're waiting to bestow upon us.

Would I be right?

Those who listen to pop or mainstream will be flooding in with theirs I'm sure [clears his throat].

Is that the drink talking or are am I just a cynical fckr?

Im quite eclectic and have some weird and wonderful music to genuine cajun to opera

tho my faves are "prince" "tarkan" and any "reggae"

Interesting. Not one of my favourites but must admit that he's written a few memorable pieces. Must check out more of his stuff.

On a classical theme there's a piano piece by Saint-Saëns which gets played a lot on the radio. If you like his style, then Agnes Obel has much of the same simplicity of composition in a modern style.

Not a great fan of "run of the mill" chart music, always have a cd on in the car. Like to go & watch local bands who are doing something original, mostly rock but love any music at grass roots level.

My almost 20 year old daughter cannot sleep without her Shaun. He's been to Jamaica, Egypt, Ireland, Canada, Spain and France. She left him at her dad's one weekend, he had to send it special delivery to her at uni in Derby!

A pub near us has a Shaun the sheep appreciation society that tune in everyday at the pub to watch. Some even have jumpers like the farmer.

On a music note, if I like the song, I like it whether mainstream or pop but do have more respect for people who write their own stuff and play instruments. Love local gigs with new talent even if they throw a few covers in, but in their own style.

I agree tghis is a 'look at meeeee!' post but hey, most of the posts on here are.

I am notorious for 'discovering' bands 10 years after everyone else. I like most music except for modern jazz, but am currently listening to lots of Sigur Ros, Dead Can Dance, Porcupine Tree and Marillion. I also like world music, especially Turkish and Indian.

haha actually the singer has an amazing voice when he just sings rather than grunts, utube a song called bother by stone sour, same singer different band, not saying you will like it as it may still not be your kind of music but you wont believe its the same guy singing

well...lawnmower deth amuse me...then of cours there is steve vai (i don't think he has ever really been mainstream)...django reinhardt..not really mainstream even for jazz fans...the fabulous inkspots (yes....really!)..not mainstream..unless you're 90 yrs old......the list goes on and can get even more obscure if i delve into my LP collection..

Same here, I've seen big Metal bands like Metallica, smaller bands like King Adora, Amen, The Nuns and also seen the likes of Corrine Bsiley Rae, Sheryl Crow, Natasha Bedingfield.

If I like it I like it, don't tend to enjoy the latest and greatest acts as they're all geared up to sell, by that they sound too much alike.
