FabSwingers.com forum: Nervous about first proper meet

Hi all fabbers,

I have a meet planned with a guy the week after next that has been a long time in the planning/build up.

We've been communicating for months as he has been working out of the UK... we have had a social meet previously but it was short.

This meet will be a full meet with us spending the eve together.

This guy is extremely special and I am really keen to make a good impression.

With all of the build-up, I am so nervous and worried that I won't live-up to expectations or something.

Any tips for dealing with extreme nerves prior to/during the meet?

If I am nervous, I tend to be jumpy and awkward and my stomach gets a little bad (mostly nausea!)

Any help would be appreciated.

Imagine how he is feeling. For me just enjoy the evening and each others company. If you become intimate then so be it but it's not what your both after its obvious it's more then just carnal pleasure.

Stop thinking about it.

Get a jigsaw puzzle or colouring book and do those instead.

Then just remember you are seeing someone you have already met socially and this is just another social. Nothing is set in stone and nothing happens until you are both ready.

If he's coming to your house that's even easier. Don't drink anything fizzy the day before or on the day. Drink lots of water, eat some fresh fruits the day before and on the day. Get all your farts out before he comes over. Have something baking in the oven, just chuck some of those part bakes rolls in the oven for that nice bready smell. Clean bedding, wash all your woodwork down, doors, skirting boards. Mop your floors with zaflora and add a tiny bit of fabric softener.

Watch a DVD so it's nice and chilled. Put some shorts on and some knee high socks and bend over in front of him a lot.

do you see those things in the distance? all the way over there.... the hills.... run fast, where takes care of itself, the important part is run!

all joking aside, dont stress about it. when you start getting ready for him, just focus on getting ready and having a chilled evening, if anything happens its an added bonus. stop putting pressure on yourself, because I can tell you now he is having the same worries and concerns you are having

just focus on enjoying the night and everything else will just fall into place as and when it does

I am really hoping that this will be the case and we'll want one another so much that we won't want to wait!!

The biggest prob with this is he will have been traveling for almost 24 hours, 3 flights from the other side of the world and he will be exhausted and want to freshen up?

Oh I can assure you that he is incredibly astute, intelligent and articulate and he knows exactly what is happening!

He wasn't having a dig he was saying that he will be a bit disorientated from travelling for 24 hours. Jet lag has nothing to do with how intelligent a person is.

My advice if he's gonna be all sleepy and sweaty from travelling. Give him a nice bath and a coffee, if you don't have a machine the nicest instant coffee I find is Nescafé Alta Rica.

My doors are clean lol....all of them!!!!

It's just convenient and we've waited long enough to meet. I am on his way home from the airport so it seems like a good time and we don't want to wait any longer.

The poster is always having a dig. He is a nuisance to myself and other forum users as evidenced by a post just the other day.

Great advice though thank you. He is a big fan of coffee so I'll get some good quality filter coffee or some pods for the machine.

Tip for extreme nerves? Work out where the issue is and change it. I always have nerves but nothing major. I'd be worried if I felt really nervous. That's a warning sign for me that things aren't right. If you're the nervous type though, you must have developed strategies for dealing with nerves?

I think that on this occasion it's because I really like the guy and I am keen to impress!!

The expectations are so high after such a long build up and loads of communication. I just want it to be perfect and I am putting too much pressure on myself!

I had a meet a while back where a woman broke all her own rules about staying overnight and committed herself to staying over..we had never met previously..It was evident she was nervous so we had a snack and just mellowed over a few drinks..as the evening went on and laughter flowed all the nerves she had evaporated and what came next was just so natural..

I would plan to cook a light meal, nothing too heavy with a nice bottle or two..after youve eaten and chatted hopefully you will be much more at ease and what follows will be without the nerves..

Unfortunately he doesn't drink alcohol and he won't be arriving until late (11pm) due to flight times.

maybe try some light music beforehand to help you relax, he will be nervous too but once you both get to enjoy each others company nerves will disapear, xx

Don't set your expectations of yourself to high and just relax and importantly be yourself

We've been communicating for months as he has been working out of the UK... we have had a social meet previously but it was short.

The prob being is he doesn't drink alcohol.....and due to flight times he won't be arriving until late eve. Plus he will be very tired due to a long travelling time.

I dont want to drink too much because I want to be on 'top form' and not tipsey or silly!!

That's the difficulty that I am having at the moment!! I thought that I would either open the door in peephole leather effect suspender Basque with stockings and heels (all black) and nothing else or my nice deep purple dress with a low neckline (With beads around) which is to the knee...with the above Basque underneath. I usually wear this dress with black heels. It is sleeveless and is a sort of fine chiffon material.

I also thought that maybe I would change into my sexy Secretary look at some point (he has had photos and loves this look) This is a very short pencil type skirt and a white blouse which I leave undone

...along with the fake black glasses!!

It's not just you who will be nervous, he will be too. Just be true to yourself and have fun. Don't do things you don't want to just to try and please him! Your home, your rules!!

Put all those nerves into getting your house cleaned and furniture arranged etc. Give yourself a good few hours to dress up and make a good impression, the wow factor where his jaw will drop haha. Cook something easy that you both like or get a takeaway in and have some bottles of wine ready or beer, whatever you both drink but not too much so can't enjoy or remember the evening hehe. Go girl!
