No not the TV show. It's really a question about when someone messages you from the other side of the country.

I state on my profile it's pointless messaging me if we're not close (NW) as the likelihood of us meeting is slim and therefore no point in messaging or responding unless ofcourse they travel with work etc. I am willing to travel a certain distance but you just get the odd guy message that your instinct tells you 'what's the point in even replying'

What's everyone else's views?

My view is never say never, the UK is a small country, it's not like we live in the USA or Australia so if someone piques your interest then what is stopping you meeting half way?

It depends on who it is, If I find her really attractive I don't mind chatting and flirting to see were it goes as it might motivate me to to make the time and effort to travel to her,

If it was a very long way I would try and make the most of the visit with a weekend away

I think it depends on what you come on here for. I love a good old laugh and natter. If I find someone and the banter just flows then it doesn't matter to me whether they're in Cheltenham or Outer Mongolia.

Yes I understand that it's just the ones that you kinda know have no intention of meeting or travelling I just don't see the point in them messaging if you get me.

If I've chatted for a while and know they are sincere then I have no issue travelling 50+ miles to meet half way.

I'm just being honest in the fact that a lot of messages I recieve are literally up north or down south and realistically it makes it hard to meet up.

People don't always read profiles. I have a short profile. If you are bald/shaved head, tattoo'ed.........we will not meet.

I still get multiple messages a day from shiny heads and inked bodies.

I have no problem meeting half way in fact I had a meet arranged for tomorrow and we were meeting half way (50miles) half way point. But childcare has become an issue. It's the ones you can sense have no intention I'm talking about. X

I am going to do it and like yourself I'm going to go on my own, it's one of them things I think I need to do on my own and nobody holding my hand. Hopefully before xmas I'll have broken my club cherry

I majority of the messages I get are from Women that I don't have a sexual attraction to, In most cases I don't mind continuing the chat but if they raise the issue about meeting I just be honest with them and say its not going to happen, Most stop chatting almost instantly,

It may be that's one of the differences between Men and Women on here,

Most Women call it a day and most Men will continue in the hope she changes her mind

no point at all - few have messaged saying they are heading this way and we can meet up at a club then that can work sometimes but random invites without chat or likeability just get ignored

I had an anxiety attack on the way to my first group social meet that was in a local pub a couple of months ago! But I knew I had to push myself, went in and found a quiet corner to sit in with my pint, ended up having a great night and made some friends, been to 3 more since and going again on Saturday.

I have requested on my profile that people local to me get in touch. If I am travelling then I will contact them. It doesn't prevent messages from as far afield as Dundee and Portsmouth getting sent though, so I guess that they believe they are local to York.

Yeah it made a come back in 2015 and is still going now. Stephen Mulhearn is the new host. Mr Chips is still on it too.
