One thing I enjoyed most is the Abra trip (traditional boat) in Deira - crossing the river/port.

Only 1 dirham per trip.

But that was in 2013.

Bit of a dust bowl but least they have air con unlike Afghan and Iraq.

Avoid the shops unless you are loaded to.

Burj Khalifq is a impressive feat of man made artchitecture though you're never forget it once seen up close.

Dubai Fountains, especially at night. If you can watch from Burj Khalifa, even better.

The Madinat is good for food and restaurants as is Dubai Creek.

Dubai Mall for the Aquarium

Beach, head to Jumeriah Beach Resort..

Up on them there hills

The Souks are good, especially the gold one, the trip across the creek as been mentioned, there is a wet and wild thing at Jumeirah beach.

Never did it, however heard good reports on the desert trips.

Definitely find a brunch (unlimited food and drink) in a nice hotel.

Trips to Abu Dhabi/Hatta Valley are also worth doing

Burj Khalifa/fountain show

Depends what you want to do

If you do go to the Burj book online - much cheaper - but it gets busy so book early.

Try to go just before subset - see both daylight and dusk - its amazing.

I would also recommend to buy an Entertainer book - gives 2 for 1 meals, trips etc (inc desert safari) Take a look online.

Uptown bar in Jumeriah Beach Hotel is worth a trip - great views good cocktails.

I have lived there for 6 years - love it

Good luck

Iceland, but Aldi is closer..

Dubai has changed a lot over the years, some good, some bad.

If you are staying up by the palm jameira then you have a bit of a journey to the creek. Expect to pay around £15 each way in a cab.

Friday afternoon brunch at the Burj al Arab is worth it, little pricey, but hey, you get to see the Burj.

As others have mentioned, the Burj kaliefa, try to get there at sunset and if you are lucky it will be clear (probably not this time of year, lots of dust in the air)

Desert safari is fun and try wadi bashing.

Alternatively, hire a car and head to abu dhabi, visit the grand mosque, do a sunset trip around the mangroves or head up to the port for the early morning market.. it's not quite as developed and still has the old charm.

You also have ferrari world there which is pretty good.

By the way, it's hot and humid, so plenty of suncream and drink lots of water.

Have a great time, you will love it there.

Perth

You can buy the entertainer app -or a book but also subscribe to groupin. Great deals for everything to be had

Top tip... if you buy duty free in Dubai airport (tobacco particularly a lot cheaper than the U.K.) get it as soon as you go through passport control (its in the baggage claim hall) by the time you've done your duty free shopping (you can only buy booze in Dubai in the bars) your luggage will have arrived ...

I used to live there a long time ago.

Some snorkelling or scuba diving.. hire a guide to take you fine bashing in the desert. The old port to see the Dhows. Gold souk.

it'll be really fucking hot mind.. your hotel might have a chilled fitted if you're lucky.

I worked there around 20 years ago. This time of year will be exceptionally hot so remember to drink as water as you can.

Eating in the local cafes and shwarma stands my expirence was totally safe and so much cheaper than resturants.

Have a fantastic time

Torquay

As someone else mentioned the York hotel is insane , it's packed with hookers as are a number of other bars .

Some great restaurants around the marina , alcohol is about £12 per pint or spirit & mixer but there are plenty of places that do food and all you can drink deals .

Go every year with work in May and have done for the last 10 years
