Never looked, never felt the need to.

If I wanted to know something I'd ask outright.

No secrets on our mobiles. We both leave them around and I have no problem with Innuendo looking at mine and she has no problem with me looking at hers!

I think it's called 'trust'! So I have no need to check up on her...

Never , wouldn't dream of doing that .

A pointless idea , and one that could only lead to trouble .

I wouldn't look at a male friends mobile phone, it's theirs they are entitled to their privacy. I would get rid of any man who wanted to look at mine. One of the things I like about being single is I can leave my phone lying around and know nobody will look at it. XXX

I did, when I had an awful gut feeling I was being cheated on. I knew but couldn't find anything (plus he kept changing his password into his phone)

I found out 15 months later I was right all along, he'd just saved his bitches number under one of his male friends (who I knew) names.

I have once, when i was in a monogomous relationship to confirm what evidence I already had they were messing about behind my back.

At that point i had been lied to, manipulated and taken for a ride.

Do i wish i hadnt? Is it better to be ignorant when you know something negative is going on? .... In ways i do regret doing it but i had to know 100%

The only reason I can see for snooping on your partners phone would be if there are trust issues. I'd rather talk that shit out than check up on them personally.

Any one else remember a good few years back when Radio 1's Scott Mills suggested that his listeners should hand over their phone to their partner and have a look? What was supposed to have been a harmless feature during his show didn't end well for a lot of couples

I did with my ex husband. Now he is my ex husband.

Nowadays, if I'm in a relationship, the whole mobile thing is very important to me, I hate the secrecy of keeping a phone face down and locking it down with passwords.

My phone has a password to prevent my kids looking at it, if Lee wants to look at my phone, he only has to ask.

A number of you have said you use each others phones all the time , nothing to hide etc

The OP never said thy looked sneakily ..., just said have you looked and wished you never

I also think its hard to tell people to just talk things through when their guy knows they are being lied to but their partner just continues to lie ... as a number of people here have posted they looked and it was the confirmation they needed to get out and move on

However i think if it gets to that point of checking the phone in secret its doomed to fail either way ... either because your suspicions were right ... or because your partner then feels their trust was violated for no reason and it pushes them away

I found with an ex after a break up and getting back together that just the fact he was happy for me to have the password was enough ... then because i knew that i could look any time i wanted i never felt the need to if that makes sense ... was a strange way of getting piece of mind

Trouble is folk who have something to hide are clever. They put numbers under friends names or work colleagues names, even a takeaway number.

Nude Pics are kept in lockable photo things that you can download and have to have a passcode to open, but it looks like a game app.

Search history is deleted.

Now you tell me, who is being untrustworthy? or the person going to all that trouble but tell you that you're being paranoid and imagining things.

I have no guilt about checking his phone. I was proved right. He's gone. His cheating ways are someone else's problem now. And she's already got him to delete Facebook because he was reaching out to other women.

Chams or Socials

I checked my ex's mobile. Not something I'm proud of. Something wasn't right, he was suddenly being very protective of it & receiving more messages than usual.

My gut feeling was right. We're now divorced & he's got a couples profile on here with the person he was cheating on me with.

It took a while but I'm really happy again after meeting a wonderful man - we both have access to each other's phone too
