I am going to Ladbrokes and putting a fiver on Williams and federerand. Don't know why but think it will be their year...again

Hard to argue with that.

I can maybe make a case for Konta giving Venus problems if she gets out the blocks fast.

For the men's title, I just think Federer is playing too well for anybody to cope with. He just seems to improve as he gets older.

Things are looking good for the Brits at the moment.

Andy Murray, currently the World No 1 and playing well despite a recent hip injury, and just look at how well Johanna Konta is doing.

Let's not forget the positive affect that the spectators can have on a players performance.

I would love to see Andy retain his title and Konta take the womens

Think I may have to revise my predictions

Absolutely gutted for the defending champion, but he looked like he was in a lot of pain out there. Let's remember, he came into this years Wimbledon still recovering from a hip injury

Going back to OP's original prediction, I very much doubt that Venus Williams can win Wimbledon this year, in fact, I very much doubt she will get past Konta and into the final.

Let's not forget, Venus Williams is 37 years old.

Even veteran Federer is only 35

Retired Player Tim Henman is only 42 (and he retired 10 years ago)

Steffi Graf (48) retired in 1999 (then aged 30) and Andre Agassi (47) retired in 2006 aged 36, so just going by their ages, Venus and Federer are towards the end of their careers

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Was this the last year for the Williams' sisters? Serena off having a baby and Venus losing in a relatively short space of time.

I don't reckon they're done yet. They both made the Aussie open final this year, Venus getting to Wimbledon final. That suggests to me that they're still hungry and competitive enough to get to latter stages of the biggest tournaments.

I recall Martina Navratilova winning her last grand slam title (doubles) just shy of her 50th Birthday. I can see this in Venus

She looked tired today. Wimbledon comes after so many of the big tournaments. Plus, her autoimmune disease can be debilitating. I don't know how she does it.

It's incredible. I think we'll see more of the big guns taking 'breaks' during the season to extend their careers.

It's gonna be a sad day when we no longer have these people playing anymore. It's been a golden generation for fans.

I don't understand kissing the trophy that many times. It'll need polishing.

Cardiff

One of the real winners are the strawberry traders, growers, sellers and so on.

Any supermarkets biggest profits come from Strawberries in fact the profit from all their other items they sell still don't amount to the Strawberry profits.

I'm looking forward to BBC Breakfast getting back to normal, I didn't like it so avoided it for the last two weeks.
