"Moths are magnificent creatures. Don't have your lights on and windows open in the evening, it attracts them. Anyone killing moths should be ashamed of themselves, they are harmless . I don't like spiders but I don't kill them. I catch them and put them back outside. " Same, they're like 'goth' butterflies. They're misunderstood. Easy to catch and put them outside.

"I hate them. They scare me more than spiders. Anyone else have a fear of these awful creatures? " Yes, I have complete panic attacks if one is around me, even make me cringe seeing them on tv. Like the nature programs when they out the white sheet out and have them crawling over their head, face and hands *shudder*

"I am not bothered by them in general. But I am having to throw out 2 woolen pullovers I really like as they have been eaten. Some of the holes are right on the belly button too, so no way to ignore them. Apart from moth balls, does anyone have any good remedies? I am worried they might destroy my suits." You can buy some cedar balls to put in draws and pheromone traps. Or fragrant hanging satchets for wardrobes, ive had them before and hang them from the hanger.. ive not had any issues with mothballs.

"What about hummingbird hawk moths? I love seeing them fly around feeding on flow. Like small hummingbirds. Many moths are like bees, helping to pollinate our flowers for fruit etc. " We found an elephant hawkmoth caterpillar one year. Me and the girls found a bug box, created a micro environment for it and proceeded to nurture it and watch it developed into a moth. After researching that it cocoons for most of its life, we left it in a safe place in the shed over winter. Fast forward to spring and we all suddenly remember our little project from last year. Alas, we were too late it had already formed and was unable to escape the bug box We were left with a perfectly in tact, albeit dead, elephant hawkmoth, which we enjoyed studying close up. Mixed emotions about that experiment Fuzz
