Does "meet today" put people off?

Does having "meet today" on your profile put people off?

I've seen some with it on everyday & think that they might be attention seeking, if you know what I mean.

No one seems to message me but then again I am in Cornwall & the chance of a meeting is few & far between down here.

No.Why should it put people off ??

I know it does make some people point the finger.

I don't know what their argument is.

Some pathetic moral tome to make themselves look somehow above others im sure.

North Cornwall

I just take it that it means they are free. Nothing wrong with that. Once in a blue moon we use it but guys just assume if they are free and local you should meet them and don't seem to read our profile at all. We also put up status of friends list only please.

It doesn't put me off but if they said 'Meat today' that would.

I would suspect their meat was on the turn.

"Yes it can do, I have been told by a few people it makes me look desperate ."

Now that's what I meant. That kind of comment is only used by people who want to feel holier than thou.

What should we say .. tomorrow ? the next day ? next week?

If im off and decide ive got some hours to kill and fancied a meet I'd use it.

It's not desparate it's planning or just letting others know you ARE available.

I use it in searches, as a filter, i.e. if I know I'll be free that night then its a way of finding who else is free too.

Always read the profile before emailing, and never copy/paste replies.

Though fully aware there is a lot of randomness involved in who people do reply to, particularly if getting 50 or 60 emails people are going to skim read or just stick a pin in.

We use it if we know we are going to be free for a few hours. Sometimes don't know until the day so I think its a good thing

As long as you remove it, if you arrange a meet or things change

Have only used it a couple of times, but so far haven't pulled from it, lol.

We have answered a couple though, both from people on holiday here, and have had good fun.

So, no, it doesn't put us off

Might use it this weekend actually

It's MEET today NOT Shag today. It's poss to put up a meet today for a social.

Best to agree with the meet that there are no guarantees.

I think that's what people are sometimes afriad of. That if they message you back that you'll think that they wanna meet for sex.

I try to change my status to say that it means social, for a coffee or whatever, not just a shag!

I thought the only reason one put up a meet today was for a shag hence I have never used it

Not wishing to sound pathetic and moral...well I could care less what other people think. It's not a function I use as I like to chat to people first, then meet socially and take it from there.

If I have a few hours spare it wouldn't cross my mind to look to a stranger to meet for coffee and a natter: that's what my friends and kids are for.

That's what worked for me. How other people choose to use the site is down to them: it doesn't appeal to me, doesn't mean I look down on those that do!

No why should it, just because they will meet today doesnt mean they will meet anyone.
