Guilty. Some of the topics get so long & what with so many others commenting, your reply often gets missed.

I usually just find myself browsing & chuckling to some of the inane comments

Exactly this, I'm quite chilled but couple of threads recently I've started to compose a response and then thought, why bother, it'll just be hassle, but once in a while that blue touch paper needs lighting

A lot but I think it is because I am new to the forums and feel like I'm interrupting lol

I reckon about 30% of the time.

Most of it is when I stop and think before I give a reply, does this thread concern me? No.

Eg. Are you looking forward to football season?

Why reply 'no' and not partake again. Just don't reply the thread will be ok.

That was just an example that's all.

yes i have been known to have an occasional kerfuffle - when its something i feel strongly about or the other person is seemingly from another planet

I've found myself doing this more and more. For every post I write and click send on there's probably half a dozen I write and decide not to send. It often feels like I'll be interrupting a thread if I post or that there's simply just no point in me posting what I have to say. I was even humming and harring whether to post this!

I'm consciously trying to make more of an effort and post more. This thread seems chilled and relaxed, which is nice and is what I like.

...plus nobody's hijacked the thread yet by going off topic and/or people haven't started flirting and fawning over each other, which is always a massive turn off for me.

"do you write a reply to a post and then just say ah fuck it cannot be arsed and dont post - i find myself doing this quite a lot lately "

I do it a lot specially when I think I may have given a previous reply to a similar topic before

this doesnt bother me - i dont mind repeating myself and for those green arrow users shows the people that are consistant in their replies - some seem to say to please at the time and not show their true selves

Yes! All the time. I write it out and then think about it. I quickly realise that somethings are best left unsaid.

I often find that just writing a rant comment but never posting helps me deal with the offensive/rude/ and just plain ridiculous comments.

Thats a good point but if you are a grean arrow stalker i'm sure they will also appreciate my lack of repetition....

I do it for them and for my sanity so it doesn't feel like groundhog day lol.

I'm no different here replying to threads than I am in the real life equivalent of contributing to conversations. I usually have 1001 thoughts swirling in my head about whether I've interpreted the gist/mood of the discussion correctly, am I going to say something stupid/boring/weird, does anyone even care what I have to say - and then, often by the time I do decide to join in, the thread (or conversation) has moved on too quickly anyway for my contribution to make any sense

So, a lot of the time, I just give up, delete 10 minutes worth of response and just lurk instead ...

overthinking it all eh - i sometimes write a reply and i know so and so will reply with a certain thing - others in such a way and one or two obvious ones try and upset the apple cart- then i think (again) i spend way too much time on here and then think hmm thats a good thing as im getting to know people - jees i can never do right for wrong even with myself
