Scaredy kids!

Last night when with friends MJ's Thriller video came on. It was the full version with the story at the start.

No one had noticed the kids coming in from the garden til we turned round to see a group of white faced wide eyed babes clearly terrified!

Can you remember a film/story/incident that traumatised you as a kid?

Mine was Poltergeist when it comes out of the TV

God. I remember watching this film called pulse, the scene where the kids braces start going mental, all the wires coming out.

Also watched this film when I was a kid, can't remember what it was called but was this little monster goblin thing that would climb on your chest when you're sleeping and suck the breath out of your nose, the kids cat saves the boy a couple of times till the monster killed their bird and the cat got the blame! Can't remember what the film was called though.

The entity used to frighten the shit out of me cos it was based on a true story, poltergeist also scared me!

My gran Hazel used to let me watch all these films with her, I'm talking before the age of 10 even! No wonder I am like I am. She's the one who if I was a good girl would take me for a walk to see road kill, saw a dead cat in various stages of decomposition for about a month!

ITV did this fake ghost thing one Halloween that fell on a Saturday. It was set in a normal family home.

It was all a total setup but back then was so convincing a few people committed suicide within a few days of the show.

It was scarey

Northampton Somewhere

When I was very young (4 maybe) I hid behind the sofa while my sister watched The Incredible Hulk. I was terrified when he turned green but it was more the look in his eyes.

Later on it was Hellraiser and Nightmare on Elm Street.

The Nightmare Before Christmas.

My parents took me to see it when I was four or five, I saw the promotional stickers in the cinema lobby and I ended up hiding under my mum's coat for the whole film and I refused to watch it for years. Edward Scissorhands scared me too, I still find it quite eerie.

????

The Exorcist

The Omen

All three of these scared the living daylights out of me.

My favourite horror genre has always been the supernatural/religious type. Probably my Catholic upbringing

Mine was Akira, I snuck down when I was 5 and watched it. Thought it was really cool right until the part where Tetsuo turned into this massive flesh monster and lost control.

Dad heard me crying then came bolting down the stairs.

Shit was terrifying, good film though.

ITV had a late 70s show called Armchair Thriller, was 2 or 3 part mysteries. One was set in a nunnery and featured a nun with no face. One of the cliffhanger endings was the hero/heroine sneaking into a room in which said nun with no face was sitting in a rocking chair. Scares the crap out of me to this day

Got a few that freaked me out!

Cujo! Which was about a St Bernard dog that got rabies and attacked a mum and a kid!

Malachai from children of the corn, I hated him!

But think one that stays with me still and does freak me out now and again is American werewolf in London were David opens the curtains and that monster thing is behind them and screams and stabs him! Had to open curtains with a brush handle for months after that!
