Bad stomach....any tips please?

Hey fabbers,

I hope that you are having a good weekend.

I have a dreadful bad stomach today.

I think that it's a combination of too much alcohol, garlic and stress.

I think that my monthly cycle is due in the next day or two as well so it could be that too, as well as possibly a bad IBS flare-up.

It's bad timing because I have some extremely important paperwork to do for work and I can not find the motivation at all.

Any tips would be gratefully received.

Thank you

Try a can of or a remedy from a pharmacy/supermarket.

Tesco can give good advice over the counter

Agree with peppermint tea, or even plain boiled water is soothing if it's very bad

Try not to eat too many rich foods today, I'd say your gut needs a rest. Bone broth is really good or some good stock and drink it as a soup. Ginger is great for settling a stomach.

Feel better soon!

Thank you for your helpful suggestions.

Some peppermint tea, paracetamol, silicol gel and aloe Vera juice have all helped a lot.

Now for the lack of motivation of which there is no cure except a kick up the bum!

Thank you again.

Rest. Clear liquids and gradually introduce light non-stimulating food.

Also suffer from IBS here too. But also no dairy/lactose.

Try cutting out the garlic.!!

Garlic and onions effect IBS peeps, not a lot of folks know that. Even foods with garlic or onion powder in them can make a flair up bad.

I think that the garlic has had a large bearing on why I have a bad stomach. I usually try to avoid it or keep it to a minimum, but I think that I used a bit too much yesterday.

Lesson learned, although I think that stress and the ladies issues have a large part to play too.

It would depend on the symptons as to what would be best to improve it.

I have IBS and use loperamide to reduce spasms and calm my intestines. Buscapan and/or a peppermint oil capsule too. Gentle foods and dont eat much. Water. Painkillers. Rest.

Almost misread the "kick up the bum" part then, thought it was a typo... certainly one way to get motivated.

Yes, garlic and onion are two of the worst things for IBS. Try following the low fodmap diet. It's a pain to work out what you can and can't eat to start with, but it's made a massive difference for me.
