My house is full of teens. I'm the only adult here. I'm proper lonely!

Basically my 16yr old has all his pals here for a farewell get together. He moves to his dads 150 miles away tomorrow morning.

It's a bitter sweet time. I'm hearing him enjoying himself and I can hear how much his mates think of him.

It's really fucking emotional. I admit a tear or 3 has fallen from my eye ball and my throat feels like it contains a lump of hot coal.

Part of me really wants to join them and be included, but the other part is telling me to let him have this precious time.

I think I've got about 10 of them sleeping here tonight so they can wave him off in the morning.

I'm saving my bottle of wine til tomorrow when he's gone just in case I become a wreck!

little house on the praire

My son left home at 16. I knew he always would. Three months before it started to get to me and continued for about three months after. Its a difficult time. How about going to join them for an hour and then give them some time

Think they're trying to destroy me

One of them just gave a speech and they were all cheering. Holy shit. Man. I thought teenagers were meant to be horrible.

"Just remember he is so highly thought of because he's had a great mum encouraging and supporting him. you always will too. X"

This totally!! Not only that he will ALWAYS thank you for that no matter where he is or what he is doing.

As others have said go join them for an hour - be part of it not only for your son but for you too - then leave him to enjoy it. I know it's what I would have wanted my Mum to do.

That sounds like a fine plan.

So far I've had 1 broken door, 1 neighbour complaint. Nobody has puked yet so that's a success right

And....

He's gone.

Unfortunately things turned sour last night with a few of his "mates" behaving like absolute cunts.

I now have a ton of repairs to do to my house as well as cleaning the whole thing top to bottom. There were food fights and all sorts (which my son went nuts at - he's really disappointed in the ones that spoiled things)

I guess it will keep me busy though eh?

Aww that's a shame his night got spoiled, hopefully he did have a good send off with the ones that behaved.

Yes you will be busy today and that's good, but be kind to yourself later when you stop. X

Omg you poor thing. I remember when I did exactly that as a 17 year old.

I should of realised then how upset my Mum would of been (I hope).

Hope he realises how much you'll miss him till he returns back to the nest.

I dread the day my Daughter moves out. I've brought her up on my own.

Good Luck Today OP it's only a Goodbye for now

Can you imagine what I'd have come back to? There would have been no house left and Christ knows what would have happened to my dog.
