Should be legal and regulated. Sex is not dirty or immoral and neither is making a living in the manner you chose to

It's the oldest known profession so they say. But can you fuck get a qualification in it.

B/Tech used to a rentboy certificate a while back but even that's gone now.

Legalise and regulate it (carefully).

Some parts of Australia did this, and the number of illegals exported as sex slaves to the country dropped dramatically.

I'm a pragmatist. I fail to understand people who aren't. What matters? What happens in reality, or your opinion?

I've paid for working girls in the past and felt no conflict of morals. She was a 19y/o 6' Aussie/Thai mix, stunning and well worth the £100 lol

Can be a bit of a hot potato subject this one...

emotive and troubling...as often linked to organised crime..trafficing...exploitation of vulnerable people etc.

Dont think its much like diary of a call girl in real life.

If it's legal they pay their taxes, and they have a governing body to protect themselves and clients, why not?

"Should been made legal years ago!!"

Agreed. Then we wouldn't have people trafficking etc etc ... plus they'd be liable for tax.

Although I once heard of a prostitute who had to go into hospital for an op in her pubic area and she specifically told the surgeon not to shave her pubes off. He couldn't do the op without shaving her so he waited till she was under and then gave her a quick mohican. After the op she discovered that he had shaved her and went to see a lawyer who asked her what she did for a living. When she informed he she was a prostitute he told she had a strong case. She asked him what her case would be based on and he said, "Destroying the roof off your workshop!"

WHat is the difference between "prostitution" and trading sexual favours for pay rise and/ or other privileges...

Im all for it but I also agree that it should be regulated so that the people that choose to do it can do it safely and without fear of prosecution.

Just out of interest - why do you consider it to be a "descent" into it, rather than a career choice? Everyone uses their bodies for their daily jobs - whose right is it to decide which part of their body people use to earn money?

I am in favour of legallised prostitution.

Only slight concern id have is that if it was legalised would young school girls see it as an easy option to just earn 'easy money' and not worry about education.

Im hoping of course very few girls would have this opinion, but if its legalised will it then move into an acceptable career choice and mainstream?

In Amsterdam where prostitution is legal, they must have a card which states they are over 21 which shows they are registered shows their registration number and clients are encouraged to ask to see this card.

Im not saying prostitutes should have special sex qualifications, but id not like the idea of young girls just getting into the business just because it was well paid and easy cash. I've seen girls on the streets of Plymouth who look a little worse for ware and look a little neglected.

If it were made legal i hope the 'standards' would perhaps be increased.

I wonder how all the people who think it should be legalised and see nothing wrong with it would feel if their daughter came home one day and told them she was a prostitute.

Amsterdam has had legalised prostitution for about eleven years now and already they are closing down red light area 'windows' and brothels to cope with the criminal aspects of drugs, trafficking and violence.

That's along with closing down 'brown' cafes because of smoking bans and tightening the use of drugs.

I would not be worried in a moral ethical sense, only in my child's safety and that given his/her intelligence they could do a lot better in a more recognised career.

would the effect not be to push the market for younger girls further underground tho ?

bigger risk = higher prices = more lucrative for the people traffickers ?

If she was drug and disease free and was doing it as her own business venture I would go along with it.

She would be an adult, and as such free to do so with/without a blessing from her mother.

Hands up id be devastated,, however id be a lot happier if it was legalised and she wasn't being pimped out for pennies in some dodgey back alleyway.

Naturally id want my daughter to be an academic young lady and have a career she is happy in. If prostitution is the path she takes id bite my lip as hard as i could and try to support her.

Think i read in the papers some while ago about a young girl who sold her virginity on ebay and it covered her 3 year uni fee's. Not sure how much truth was in that but good on her.. my virginity was taken by someone i didnt care about, wish i had her instinct and could have got thousands out of it.. dammit lol
