Legislation states that a animal must spend a minimum amount of days to be classed as outdoor bred. Once they have lived in the outdoors for that time period they can be fed or reared indoors for any length of time then.

In my opinion the best meat is to be had from the local butcher as they tend to source from smaller and more local farms where the intensity on providing meat for the mass food producers is less.

Yes, I think most people who read the words 'outdoor bred' would assume the animal lived its whole life outdoors.
