So I want to have a few days away. Im planning on staying in the UK.

Where should I go and why? Im pretty open to anything, Im just as happy camping in the wilds as I am in a busy city.

Bath is good - you can take in Bristol at the same time.

Most places in Devon/Cornwall are good.

Or Gods own country - Wales is worth a visit

Big city: London, sooo expensive but every culture's taste, smell, style and language lives here. It is still possible to eat and drink cheaply if you know where. The history of the place is to dies for if that's your thing.

Sleepy country town: Ludlow in Shropshire. The food capital of England. In the middle of the countryside, castle ruins, ancient winding high street with wooden buildings that have bowed and bulged with age.

I'd say Hay, Winchester (and you can do Salisbury as well), Kendal or Cambridge. Bath and you can visit the best bookshop in the world and it's beautiful architecture. There are so many places!

What is this bookshop of which you speak? It surely can't be better than te Strand Bookstore on Broadway, but I still want to visit it.

Oh, you've been there? Slightly jealous. No, I don't think anywhere can compete with it. I'm actually rather biased about it - Toppings & Company. If I was going for somewhere for a book with more history in the UK, Scriveners would be my shout. Actually OP, Buxton is lovely!

New Forest down on the south coast is great spot for camping and wild ponies roaming about adds to the atmosphere.

Yep it is, I enjoyed Buxton, stayed in that slightly crumbling grand Victorian hotel. Didn't notice the bookstores, dammit.

The New Forest is indeed awesome. Brighton (yeah, I would say that) and the surrounding area is also quite lovely. Only an hour from London too. Then again, I can't argue with any of the other suggestions. They're all lovely too.

Now, what sort of trip is tickling your fancy at the moment.
