Howdy, bit of a rant - apologies now!

Now I always treat this place and the people here as I would if I met them in a pub...no "fancy a fuck", etc. Say that in a bar and you'd be slapped! So I try to be polite and respectful.

I know that some guys don't play nicely when they get a rejection....but sometimes would a "Thanks, but no thanks" be too much trouble? When someone has taken the time to read your profile and sent a message (with your code word if needed) for it just to be deleted?

Yours frustrated man!

They read your message, looked at profile, decided they didn't want to pursue. Deleting is the easiest solution all round to avoid any grief from the butthurt who get rejected.

You answered your own question. I've got abuse from saying no thanks so now I don't bother. My profile clearly says I'm not looking for men. If they don't have the manners to read it then they don't deserve a polite response. And the FAQs specifically state that no response is a response and isn't impolite.

If you went up to a random in a bar and started talking to them and they blanked you, wouldn't that be a sufficient 'no thanks, go away'?

My view is that nobody asked for a message so doesn't owe anyone a response.

Delete all your sent mail as soon as you've sent it, then you'll not know what the recipeint has done with it. If you're not a site supporter, you have limited messages, most women won't waste loads sending thanks but no thanks when they can use them to chat to people they are intereested in meeting.

You send 1 message. Lady recieves 100.

A quick scan of your message and a lady may well determine she isn't going to waste time replying to someone she simply has no interest in.

Copy and pasting a thanks but no thanks is impersonal.

Replying takes time.

Imagine if you got 100 messages, what would you do?

If someone deletes / blocks or whatever, just move on. Life is too short.

i've never been able to reply to all messages and never wanted to.

manners really don't apply to situations where people wanna get sexual with you. it's nice if you have them but for women manners can be seen as a sign of weakness and the prospects for being pestered from a man who thinks manners are a way to pressure you into sex are high.
