The main road thats about a mile away from my road is being resurfaced. These bar stewards have decided to use my road as a base camp for their heavy machinery. Started messing at 7 am on a bloody sunday

Bloody hell i'm amazed they're out at that time. Usually you see them sat in said machinery doing sweet FA apart from smoking and drinking out of a thermos!

Hmmmm seems it's down to local councils who decide what is reasonable times etc.

Trouble with resurfacing a main road is you do it duribg the week and cause traffic chaos or you do it on a weekend and overnight and puss off the locals.

I suspect the OP would also be complainin if traffic was gridlocked Monday morning and theor commute took hours longer than normal.

Can't win either way

Leeds

Get in touch with Highways at the Local Authority. You should have been advised of this. If they are awkward then get your local MP involved.

It's July and we've got snowflakes already!

Believe it or not....the world doesn't stop at 5pm on a Friday and start back up at 9am Monday

I actually feel for these people doing this sort of work

Do it mid week - you're disrupting people travelling

Do it out of hours - you're disturbing people while they're at home

Do it on a weekend - you're disturbing people's weekend

Don't do it - you're a twat for not doing it

"They have to put the stuff somewhere. Some folk just love to complain."

A post exactly like this came up on a local Facebook group and when questioned, the ones complaint couldn't actually come up with an answer that would be a suitable time.

Unfortunately early on a weekend is going to cause the least disruption. It's not like a motorway where they can shut entire sections all night
