Sure there are plenty of golf courses around the world who need science's assistance with their grass and soil.

Soil and Sports Turf Scientist!

Now i've stopped laughing..... from pure ignorance not ridicule.

Wtf ......? That has got to be the most 'specialised' title i've ever heard.

Who wakes up - five years old n says .... Mummy I wanna be a soil and sports tur........ yada yada.

Go on .... Did you get a degree in it ?

Is football turn different to bowls turf .... How many sports use turf?

Is scientist just an upmarket way of saying Layer?

Torquay

You need to

(a) Go somewhere there are plenty of sports facilities...Spain has more golf courses than any other EU country.

(b) Speak the language of any country you wish to work in, not easy to learn Bulgarian or Croation I should imagine.

Not sure if we should carry on raking over this thread. It appears to have gone to seed.

You will be lucky to get a Visa to work in the States for more than 6 months in a job an American can't do.

They have tightened up on their work Visas in a big way over the last few years, my eldest worked in Florida last summer in a Kids camp as a soccer teacher but couldn't get a Visa this summer.

Now granny you might have started something there........... how many people on here can name all the sports played on turf?............

Yes studied at Cranfield Uni......... and yes turf is different for all sports. Some turf is even stitched into the ground (Ipswich football pitch)

the USA is a closed shop been twice to conferences.........

Jane,

Not sure if you will see this but here goes.

Have you got any idea the longest you can get a tourist visa for to travel round the USA. I read 6 months but not sure that is right.

I want to go for maybe 8 months.

Btw in the world of turf those that live by the sward die by the sward! I'll leaf now.
