Yes it was a while ago I had a big discussion on here and he was saying it was originally made for a film called Danto, (or similar) and he then dedicated it after to his son. So I'm not sure now to be honest x

Ah yes I Googled it. The song for the movie came first apparently, but a song about his son was always there, like a subconscious thing. I guess the creative process isn't that clear cut.

Apparently it's a bit of both he had it half written about his son but finished writing it with Will Jennings for a film, kind of used the film as a reason to get it finished.

I knew it was something like that. Apparently he got his inspiration from a Jimmy cliff song 'many rivers to cross' about seeing loved ones again. He vowed never to sing the song live again as it was getting to impersonal to him.

I can imagine singing such a personal song could have consequences.

Nutshell - Alice in Chains

It's so sad that he sings about wanting to kill himself and does so, not that long after.

Nick Cave - I Need You

He made this album throughout his son's tragic death. Even his voice sounds different on this album. As though he's going to break down with each word.

And all these years later I seen that boyfriend and I smiled to myself because
