I met a bodybuilder once. I thought I was treating myself. Wrong. First, he wanted me to rim him, which I don't do but hadn't clarified beforehand and the size of him meant I didn't wish to refuse when he stuck his butt in my face. I think so. I think fat people know they are the majority and can collectively push this fallacy that being obese is good and that only fat people are "real", have personality and anyone who isn't fat is vain, superficial and self obsessed

Hey! I am fat and I am real...doesn't mean I think fit, slim, skinny people are anything but normal people...until they prove me otherwise! The term real is just bloody stupid!

Not all men who go to the gym are, of course. But have you considered it’s from experience? Many guys (and girls) who take the gym to the extreme, are so focused on their body, they often develop an ego bigger than any muscle they could tone. This is not a sweeping statement, it is a fact that in our lives we can easily make a list of names. Again, not all, but many. It’s sad, but it’s almost expected because humans are generally very egocentric and the moment they start to love themselves physically (I don’t mean love yourself like be happy with yourselves, I mean, admire yourself), they begin to start to look down on others who don’t do this strange act of pushing and pulling metal objects for fun.

It’s not a dig on every one, but you forget, many of the women here will have experience based on men in their lives who have gotten obsessed over the gym and themselves. I’m afraid that anyone who is a nice and not egocentric guy but does go to the gym a lot, is in the company of a lot of guys who ruin your chances with some girls. It’s not your fault, but you should watch the behaviour of some of your gym colleagues and if you notice an arrogance or ego develop, punch them in the neck and tell them to fucking get a life.

Then hopefully over time you will find you are less assumed about. We have nothing against the gym, but plenty against arrogant and egotistical pricks who have begun to love themselves more than anyone else and live in the gym expecting life and people to work around them because they do this thing that most people they know don’t give a shit about. The problem is, they don’t understand that fact, because to them, like anyone, their hobby is clearly the most important one, and self righteousness is a trait we can all take on if we aren’t careful. It just seems to be a running theme with young gym guys. Especially saddening is the 18 - 30 year olds who think every woman is going to drop to their knees at the sight of their most muscular pose. Oh, how wrong those silly boys are. It really isn’t a dig on individual people. Maybe it should be, but it’s just an experience thing. Be extra normal to counter that, leave the gym at the gym unless you’re talking to a gym girl, and perhaps people will stop hating on gym guys.

Oh bye this “real” man and woman thing? Fuck off with that crap. Everyone is real. Gym obsessed or fat. Doesn’t matter, you’re all real. I hate overweight people ripping on fit or thin people, and hate fit or thin people ripping on overweight people. It’s horrendously small minded.

It’s jealousy on the overweight person’s side almost every time, and small and nasty on te fit person’s side.

Nice person? Then that’s all you need, because believe me, everyone will have people chasing them for their body traits, be it large or small. There’s plenty of people who want larger people and plenty who want thinner.

Sorry, just sick of seeing those kind of arguments.

You're right. But the initial question was just about aesthetics. Initial sexual attraction is usually aesthetics too. Personality shows up after. That's just how it is.
