Having been in a lot of debt myself, I found that companies are always willing to help you out should you find yourself in a bit of poor situation.

They prefer to help because its cheaper that going to the expense and hassle of getting the courts involved.

Not all, but most of the people on that show just ignore the problem and hoped it went away when it doesnt work like that

those programmes are following the enforcers once the courts have been involved...so obviously the problem didn't go away, it came back with costs on top

But, if you're a vulnerable person it may seem easier to stick your head in the sand, and I wonder how many people on that show are in that position.

Oh yea of course. I'm just saying, it doesn't have to get that far. Usually you can sort something out with the people you owe money to.

I loathe these types of programmes, because it seems like an escalation of the demeaning of those who are struggling.

If they instead make public help programmes that are educational, to assist people with financial issues then I'd see that they may be in the public's benefit.

Usually touted by right wing media like channel 5.

It's just another money making machine.

We have won cases against clients who haven't paid £500 court cost and after still not getting payment employed the services of the enforcers £180 up front.

They could even find the company let alone retrieve any owing monies.

The "benefit" type programmes make me uncomfortable because the people all seem vulnerable to me. I have little sympathy for the can't/won't pay types as they usually know how to play the system and some poor sod has been shafted and has had to throw good money after bad employing high court enforcement officers.
