So i know we all like the music posts in here, so what's the weirdest, unusual, "not normally your thing" album whether it be vinyl cassette cd or digital that you currently own but really love!

Mine is - Leftfism by Leftfield

I got introduced to The Orbs Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld when I was about 16.

I was an indie rock kid at that point but I was just blown away by it, been a big ambient trance fan ever since. Although I'm pretty much into any thing bar death metal now.

The Seduction of Claude Debussy by The Art of Noise is another weird but wonderful piece of music.

"Elton John - greatest hits.

Coincidentally, I was earworming songs from Don't Shoot Me today. I was also a big fan back in the 70s.

I don't think there's anything that's "not my thing." I have a very diverse taste and don't go by genre. I think having written, recorded and performed, I'm turned on by good songwriting and interesting production, which can come from anywhere.

So I'll mention the latest thing I got into, Again and Again by the Bird and the Bee, which was mentioned in interview by Dave Grohl and it's certainly not what you'd associate with the Foos.

Probably someone like Faith No More.

If I'd never heard FNM and you described them to me I'd probably not listen to it as bands that mix metal, hip hop, and funk usually sound horrendous (red hot chilli peppers, all Nu-metal)

I love Stevie Nicks anyway, but her album The Other Side of the Mirror is a bit of a guilty pleasure. Very 80's production, with a singer not long off . Shouldn't work, but it does.

True Story:

Back in 1998 I bought East 17's only official proper R&B album called 'Resurrection.'

I shit you not!

…and YES I am a heterosexual black man from South London. That album was hard, well it was at the time.

Love 'Tilt', think 'The Drift' is even crazier still!

Big fan of Van Dyke Parks work with beach boys, never heard his solo stuff though. Must get round to checking some out.

Moondog ... what can be said? he wass way way ahead of his time ... here's an album from 1956 with a mixture of ethnic rhythms, samples made on looped magnetic tape, jazz timings and other bizarre stuff

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BXlkfQfL2I

.... the thing is most folks will say who, what? but then play them this next tune and the penny will drop
