Basically, I've really wanted to try it for a long time now. But I've never found the confidence to do it, I've always been afraid of the pain aspect! I have been dommed before from previous partners but never gone that far. Is it something that hurts badly or does it become pleasurable?

You should just try light arse play first - rimming, fingering etc. Once you recognise how pleasurable it can be the psychological fear of pain should lift. If you are into it it shouldn't hurt, or maybe just in the good way
